Hi all! Ok, I am going to take a stab (Castle crime-writing pun…) at what will happen in this episode! Taking into consideration what Jose has hinted at in chats..

Now this is Just My Guess.. I am not saying this is what I want… but.. here goes! don't flame me!!! :)

I think, the murder of Kate's mother is going to be brought up again ( whether or not it will be completely resolved I don't know.. ) and her father's grief and her grief come welling up all over again- as they deal with the new information, or it's resolution..

In her grief- Kate is going to end up in Castle's arms.. and he is going to want to comfort her.. !!! and.. in that time of vulnerability they are going to end up sleeping together..

I am also guessing Kate won't be happy it happened.. and will take a huge step back from him as a result of all this- as she isn't ready for a proper relationship with him, and frankly he isn't either..

After their night together- Castle verse is never going to be the same.. like I said.. this is just a guess….

They did something like that in Burn Notice ( any other fans out there? ) they slept together first season… the director(Matt Nix) on the commentary says " when the two leads sleep together people think that will kill any sexual tension- but not true!! I know plenty of people who have slept together and it solves nothing!! It just makes things even more complicated and messy!!!' – and.. he was right.. another season and a half down the line, and this show still has plenty of sexual tension!!

I think this is where Castle is headed.. when two people who are perfect for each other sleep together before either is ready for it- this will lead to lots of tension!!! and.. will change the Castle verse completely!!!!

Hi Sarah,  yeah sharing a bed for a night with no sex, or just sharing a kiss would be better I agree.. I hope that is what it is.. I would prefer an emotional connection  to a sexual encounter anyday!! …..but I am going to go with my guess! I think it can be done without ruining the story line..  but at the same time,  I hope your right! :)

The one thing I do know:  I am sure that no matter what happens it is going to be great – even if it is them sleeping together.I am sure the writers are going to do a fab job!!! Guess it is a matter of degrees; kissing.. sleeping together.. sex.. – but either way… I am guessing Beckett is going to be pulling back.. especially after acting so jealous the week before.. Feeling so out of control of her emotions may scare her a bit.. on top of all the stress with her mum's murder..

Heck! I am just having fun guessing!! We'll see before too long I guess! and I will look forward to discussing it a day or two later here on the forum!! ( I am not in the us and watch new eps online before they come to Australia!!)

Add me to the chorus who believes that she will (okay, I'm HOPING) find comfort in Castle's arms. I too don't want them to sleep together yet. I like to think that Castle has evolved enough at this point that even if she tried to sleep with him, he would hold back because he didn't want to ruin things. The old Rick Castle would do it without hesitation, but the person he has become over the course of the series? I'm not so sure. I can't wait to see what happens! I really need to log off of the forum. I don't know if it is making the wait better or worse. lol

This is the episode that I have been looking most forward to!!!!  I've been waiting and waiting for them to do an episode about Beckett's mom's murder.  I think it'll create some great angsty moments.

Totally agree! That blooper made me smile. Bring on the legit cute Castle/Beckett moments. I cannot even express how much I wish that it was January.

"I wish it was January". I've seen that on several posts and it always makes me smile ….. Reminds me of Dr. Pomatter from the Waitress- " I wish it was Friday".

I always imagined solving (or dealing with) this murder case would bring them closer, but knowing what's about to happen in ep 14 makes me believe I was wrong.

Very interesting take could be what happens. How about another twist to your story to add some flavor ?

What if what you say does happen or is stopped short of sleeping together but instead of them doing so Castle puts on the breaks because Beckett is upset about her Mother's murder all over again so instead of just having sex with her and comforting her they end up passionate but he pulls back and just says he has to leave. She would feel embarrassed, rejected and certainly upset. This would cause a huge wall to come up between them this setting up #14 and the spoiler we know is going to happen there with Castle & Beckett .

 Castle would want to comfort her but then he might and this is a long shot decide if they did sleep together knowing Beckett as he is beginning to know her , he knows she would regret it and then decide they could no longer work cases together and she would pull back from him completely regretting that both of them weren't ready for this yet and he would lose her in more ways then just his lover. He likes working cases with her, he likes just BEING with her every minute or the day and she him. They love to work cases and bounce off cases with each other they are good at being a team. If they did sleep together out of his comforting her instead of out of really wanting to have a lasting couple relationship it could and would blow up in their faces pulling them apart. Then again (grin) what fun this would be to see play out if he put on the brakes instead of her as we all predict might be the case. They are crazy about each other but also learning all about each other and growing slowly together as a couple. This could end up being a one night stand that both regret because they want a long term life together but haven't been able to admit to themselves the other person is THE ONE because Kate doesn't want the hurt that it would be if he moves on from her and Rick doesn't want her to really know she's got him all tied up in knots he nuts for her! Meanwhile back at the station everyone knows they have a thing for each other so they are all watching from the front roll seats, Mom, Alexis, Ryan, Esp, Mongomery, poker buddies, lanie they all know they are hot for each other and who are they fooling!

Thus #14 we find them at odds again according to description and sparks will fly. Who will be the jealous one in that episode – I am thinking both are jealous and both are upset and want to get even with the other. I can hardly wait for new episodes beginning Jan. 11th, it is fun to guess isn't it?

It is way too soon for them to be jumping in the sack together, for whatever reason. Maybe by the end of the season, but their development hasn't reached that point yet. Maybe I'll be surprised and the missing development will happen in episode 12, but that's a lot of development for one season.

Might be what changes our Castle verse forever lol! The unexpected.

From tv-guide back in November:

Marlowe is equally hesitant to wrap up the story of Beckett's mother's murder too quickly. "We do have an episode dealing with it coming up; there will be some significant movement in the case in that episode," Marlowe says. "It's so much a part of Beckett's character, this unresolved mystery, that we feel like resolving it too quickly would not be fair to her character. It's something that we will be developing over the next season or two until we get to the ultimate resolution."

Significant movement – developing over the next season or two – that doesn't sound like enough to make Beckett break down in episode 13. They have been talking about her mother's murder several times, in season 1 she got misty eyed, in season 2 – not. So by mentioning it, hinting about it, over time, it's become a more peaceful topic for her. But she would probably still be a bit edgy. Maybe Castle is too caring for her, and they have a fight over that? "Stop looking at me like that Castle, I'm not made of glass, I won't break just because we're talking about my mother!"

Or maybe they find that her mother was involved in something illegal. And her father knew something about it, and that's why he started drinking – he couldn't tell the police about the possible killers because that would ruin her reputation…

omg your idea is really good..i kind of tought that too.or maybe her mom knew of something and was going to tell the police and thats why they killed her..

We know the three other murders are going to tie in together and involve her Mother and most likely the ME as well. There is much to the puzzle to solve here. I would think her Mother and law student stumbled onto something without even realizing it and then when they did if they did they were already being picked off. The key here is who will be the murderer someone Beckett has ran through the system before, ran into in her past and knows well, or someone who might be a judge or professor or ties with the mob it can go so deep and then we get little pieces of the puzzle. Thing is #13 opens up the wounds and I wonder will Castle bring it up to her Father or will Beckett mention it to her Dad and open up about what Castle found or will it be handled secrectly by Beckett and her Father and Castle figures out he came to town to open the case back up with Beckett against her advice to leave it alone. Could it be Beckett's Dad comes to Castle after she mentions he found new edivence and clues and he goes behind his daughter's back with Castle to search and this is what sets things in motion for #14 ummmmm!
