Hostage we'd have to look it up kidnapping they don't say that word they say Hostage. Hostage to me means they hold him but could mean just in front of police not kidnap him off street and hold him someplace and the police must find him. I think more like he is held in front of police.

I saw these too, very tiny but if you click on full photo you can read who is in the photo. To me it looks like Kate is in a restaurant with her Father then the team is at some function then arrest someone or take them to be questioned at the station and then looks like last photos have Castle being taken hotage in the police station and Beckett is trying to talk the guy out of shooting Castle or taking him out of the place. I can't tell who is on the ground but photos have names of guest stars so I assume one of the people they took in for questioning. This is going to be good, one photo shows her alone driving like she is looking for something or someone. Not sure if it will be looking for where they took Castle or on clues to her Mother's case. Oh man Jan 11th, and Jan 18th and Jan 25th can't come soon enough for this Castle fan. This looks like 3 good episodes in a roll and it isn't even going to be for the prized Feb sweeps.

Good call on the caption Pamfromcalif- It says the baddie holding Castle hostage is Jay R. Ferguson.. who is playing Dick Coonan – who the casting call describes as- [DICK COONAN] Mid to late 30s, humanitarian and polar opposite to his older brother, victim Jack Coonan, who was an enforcer for the Westies, a Hell's Kitchen Irish crime syndicate. Is later revealed to have a surprising dark side… that is a bit of a spoiler!!

Pamfromcalif- as usual I agree with you!! Hehehee.. I agree with your interpretation of the photos.. I too thought it looked like Castle was being held hostage – or maybe ‘at gun point’ is a more precise way of expressing it.. and then – yes, it looks like Dick Coonan is lying dead on the ground, and – Castle has his hand on Beckett’s back comforting her as she stares at the Coonan’s dead body.. ( not the hug pic I would have preferred mind you.. )
Maybe the duct tape is from another episode? And Beckett Duct Tapes Castle to the car to get him to stay there? He heeee… it doesn’t have to be this episode where we see it I guess..

The Second/third lines of photos on the first page seems to be of the arrest of the informercial guy..

On the third page we see Beckett offering to put her gun down, as Dick Coonan holds Castle hostage – and they aren’t standing in the offices of the police station – I am guessing it is in the hallway of the holding cells.. soooo it looks like some time lapses between the final showdown in the hallway of the station’s office area and Castle initially being taken hostage.. Looks like Coonan takes Castle hostage, then walks up to the offices with both Castle and Beckett held hostage….. and then once up there.. he again holds Castle alone hostage..

We don’t know for sure if Beckett will be the one who ultimately kills the baddie holding Castle hostage.. ( as it looks like she and two others have guns trained on him at the moment he gets shot) .. but.. if I had to guess- in terms of drama and best plot device – it’s gotta be Kate who pulls the trigger- Choosing to kill the man who may offer her information useful to her solving her mother’s murder – to save Castle’s life .. in other words.. she chooses Castle over possibly solving her mother’s murder.. heavy stuff!!

This reminds me of the mentalist ( Anyone else thought this???).. I have always thought that mentalist guy’s backstory – of loved one murdered and the case remains unsolved and simmering away as an ongoing mystery which drives him to help others in solving the murders of other people’s loved ones – is very similar to Kate Beckett.. and.. now this.. the same thing happened in the mentalist.. well.. sort of.. He puts his life on the line to get to Red John, the murderer.. but it all gets too dangerous and the cop ( his partner/ potential love interest!!) has to kill the man that had information on Red John before he killed the mentalist guy… oh so the angst continues.. so close… and yet.. at the last moment.. the chance is taken away – because someone cared enough about someone to put a bullet in the baddie rather than take a chance on the baddie hurting the good guy!!..

Bring on episode 13. I am ready for the angsty drama.. and for Castle’s super huge thank you to Beckett for saving his life.. ( would a little hug kill ya???)

Oh and one more thing.. you guys notice in the photos with her dad- Beckett has had her hair cut shorter again or is it up?? Anyone????

As much as I'd love to say "KB is choosing Castle over her mother," she's not. She's choosing life over death. She wouldn't let anyone die just to get info that MIGHT help solve her mother's murder.
