I saw that too! It also looks like we'll only see her Dad at a diner, meaning no Castle interaction. Unless Jim Beckett is in another scene.

A few of you guys have responded that Beckett would never let someone die to solve her mother's murder. … and I wholeheartedly agree with you all.. Just to clarify, I wasn't saying she would..

I was saying in that situation that it is a choice- but yes, Beckett would always choose life- I liked the way you put it Sarah,choosing life over death..

I think that there could be people who are so obsessed at solving the murder of a loved one that they could be at risk of stepping over that line-(and at risk of it consuming their own life) … Maybe not letting someone die -but maybe risking it..certainly taking bigger risks.. I don't think Beckett is in this place though- which is why I said she was choosing not to take the risk of anything happening to Castle. Let's not forget, I also was only guessing at what would happen.. we don't even know for sure who shoots the guy-maybe not Beckett, we don't know yet… I was just exploring different ideas.

Yes, we may never ever imagine Beckett doing anything else but choosing life.. so it may not seem like a choice.. but she always has a choice.. which I believe makes her a very courageous character.. we can say she will always choose to help others- and yes she probably will..but it is a choice – I just wanted to credit her character with what it was she was indeed choosing..

From a dramatic writing point of view -With all she has been through, I would give her that split second of doubt about what to do.. Not even Beckett is perfect- and it makes for a better story.. If Beckett was always perfect and never changes and grows then the story isn't as powerful.. know what I mean?

From Castle's hand on Beckett's back comforting her as she looks at Coonan's dead body – it is clear ( at least to me!!) that Castle understands what she has chosen, and what she has lost in making that choice.. oh swoon..

Yeah pamfromcalif.. Castle is different now isn't he.. it will affect her emotionally more than if it were just anyone.. just like her mother's murder affects her more than other murders. It is only natural and right.. so if the writer's don't write it that way and brush it off – that it is Castle and that makes her emotional- well.. I am going to be disappointed!! but.. I think the writers have done a great job so far and I will be looking forward to seeing what they have done :)

I can't wait for this episode I'm intrested in Becketts dad being around and castle getting taken hostage.

I also think that Castle and Beckett may hug in this episode I don't know about a kiss but could maybe happen. In the moment scared spontaneous and without really thinking just so glad that the other one is "safe". Maybe we get more then a hand on a shoulder we will have to wait and see.

I so agree with you in what someone must do in a beat of time in a moment when dealing in a crisis, maybe the guy was aiming at more people we don't know yet. Beckett may have had to choose between keeping Castle alive and trying to wound the guy holding him, but ends up maybe having to kill the man because he is still going to shoot Castle. Also when Beckett looks like she is setting her own gun down we don't know if this is the moment she chooses to take her best shot so to speak. Maybe in all this Castle and Beckett get so shook up about the other that they are faced with just what they really have become to each other and do mean to each other and it freaks them both out. Castle likes being a flirt and a playboy not yet grown up. Beckett is closed off and guarded to let a man like Castle into her life her personal life comes with lots of baggage and loads of effort to take on all of his "women" and his lifestyle. Might scare them both enough that they rush back to their own corners and go into denial until of course #14 and their dates and when they end up at the same place with their selected dates and the sparks and daggers most surely will fly. I can't wait but I will have to.

It will also be interesting to know if Castle's family are in this episode to find out he has been taken hostage or if it all happens away from them and Beckett's Dad and is wrapped up at the police station and we never see those reactions on the episode. Also will be interesting if Lanie is in this episode to talk with Beckett as well as our sidekick cops watching this whole thing unfold in front of them and their reactions to Castle & Beckett they have been watching these two the closest out of all as they work with them day to day.

Love the pix of Beckett driving alone I wonder where is she going and who is she looking for? I hope it has to do with her and Castle maybe her driving home after the hostage thing wondering about her feelings for Castle or will she tell him at the end of #13 see, it's to dangerous for you to follow me around on my job we need some time apart or maybe the Nikki Heat books will have to be done without more research and they part for a few weeks thus the dates. Like Castle said they have tried it apart already and he ended up wheeling and dealing his way back in to work with her and there would be no show if he doesn't stay working with her, but maybe Capt. assigns Castle to the guys for a few weeks to give Beckett time to clear her head from the entire hostage thing. I am grasping here but like you said it is fun to write our own scripts some folks call it fanfic LOL! Makes the time go by and then it is fun to see how much we guessed correctly and how far off we were and actually how simple it turns out with a lot less drama then we give it.

Someone here mentioned Beckett's make up for this season, I was thinking on an episode the other night while watching that she seems to be using a lot of dark eye makeup more then usual anyone else think this see it too?

seeing the pics large got me forgetting about episode 12 and gushing over episode 13 :D really looking forward to that seen where beckett shoots someone to save castle, it'll surely be a great emotional scene for beckett.

and it's nice to see more of beckett's personal life, also really looking forward to her talk with her dad.
oh and one more, her facial expression in that picture where she was sitting in the car was very emotional, stana's superb. :)

There is a spoiler photo from this episode I find most interesting it shows Castle & Beckett drinking coffee at the police station I am not sure of what part of the station. Beckett is looking serious or upset/mad at Castle who is standing at the left of her about four feet apart and he is looking very serious not happy at all. Beckett is wearing what looks to be a black lather coat I only see with 50 percent one eye so sometimes colors I am not sure about.

It is a most telling photo of these two I can speculate and say they could be talking about her Mother's case hope so! Whatever it is Beckett isn't happy with Castle.
