Looks like a fun episode.

I get the feeling from the clips and previous episodes that the entire "going out on a date thing" for tonight's episode for Beckett was the result of her being "outted" in the paper as being romantically involved with Castle.  She may be trying to "make a point" both to Castle AND to her fellow detectives (who could be ragging on her as a result of the article).  So rather than this being a "serious" date, it's a date to let Castle know he's NOT the only fish in the barrel.  It's more of a "show" date–i.e. show him she is attractive to other males.  It might also be a way for Beckett to "reassure herself" that Castle doesn't have to be the only option for her.  She is certainly attracted to Castle (though very reluctant to admit it), so this may give her an opportunity (in her own mind) to be attracted to another male.  Of course, if Stana indicated at the SAG's that they'll be dating other people for the next couple of episodes, then it may be that this week's date ends a bit prematurely (possibly as the result of the murder interrupting them) resulting in them dating others again in an upcoming episode for the same reason.  And, if they DO date others a second time, then it's reasonable to assume that eventually, they'll both get tired of the "dating others" thing and begin to see each other as more of a dating prospect than they have previously.  I can't actually picture Beckett ending any of her "one-night dates" in bed…but then I doubt that Castle will either.

Thinking about what you said, you know Beckett's always reading and she may see the article and not say a word to anyone act like she didn't see it. You know how she read Castle's review in the one episode and he was pleasantly surprised she had read it, and we know how she read the book for the longest time and kept Castle thinking she didn't. She may be hiding that she knows all about the article, at least another way to look at it.
Plus she read the Cosmo thing too, she is always on top of what is happening with Castle lol!

After "A Rose for Everafter" and Sucker Punch" I can't see anything but the C/B relationship getting stronger.They each very obviously have feelings for the other.I think it's Castle that desperately needs to step up to the plate and fire the ole #1.Darlin Kate has all but thrown herself at Rick and he seemingly just dosen't get it. I hope seeing her with another man will wake up the sleeping beast.

Throwing her self may be just a tad strong for the interaction i'm seeing.Your right.It's the looks of interest in each episode and the verbal sparing. The scene where she hads Castle under surveillance and gives away she is watching him to make sure he dosen't do anything stupid.The scene at the foot of the stairs when she thinks Castle is leaving to write Bond books is a stronger example of her letting him know she wants him.Last week in the FFS where she comes right out and says she wants him around.The scene in bough breaks upon reading the dedication and leaving herself open to a Castle advance is the type of scene i'm talking about. I'll try to abstain from saying "throwing herself" in the future.
