Still wating on full figures

Fox's "House" returned to top the ratings charts Monday, but the good doctor couldn't save Jack Bauer's slipping numbers. While over on ABC, the network's early faith in "Castle" continues to pay off — the mystery-drama hit a series high.

Despite a strong shove from "House" (14.2 million viewers, 5.2 preliminary adults 18-49 rating), "24" (10.7 million, 3.3) continued to sink this week, falling 37% from its lead-in and slipping a couple notches from last week's two-hour episode.

On second-place ABC, "The Bachelor" (11.5 million, 3.9) gained another tenth. "Castle" (10.5 million, 3.1) was up 11% to hit a series high and win its hour (CBS was in repeats). On NBC, "Chuck" (6.9 million, 2.5) stabilized and "Heroes" (4.3 million, 1.9) was up a tenth from last week's all-time low. "Jay Leno Show" (4.3 million, 1.2) dropped a notch.

The CW had "One Tree Hill" (2.2 million, 1.1) and the second week of "Life Unexpected" (2.1 million, 1.0), the latter slipping 11% from last week's debut.

Great numbers as expected. Three straight great episodes in a row and without competition of Monday Night Football helps. Hopefully the next new episode in 2 weeks keeps the same amount of viewers.

Best news to wake up to this morning. Congrats to the cast and crew. They so deserve this.

Marc Berman put Castle in his winners section last night which is a rarity.

First time we've beaten a CSI: Miami rerun even. Not bad considering we're started the season off with 2.2's.

This is fantastic.  Beating CSI Miami, even a repeat is huge! 

And even though next week is a repeat, its a great episode, hopefully all the new viewers will stick around and like that one too and keep the ratings up next week as well.    Don't forget to go to ABC and tell them how much you loved the episode too.

Hitting a series high and building its Adult 18-49 audience for its 3rd straight original telecast, ABC’s “Castle” won the 10 o’clock hour in Total Viewers (10.5 million) and Adults 18-49 (3.1/8).

* “Castle” improved ABC’s performance in the hour over the same night last year by 3.5 viewers (10.5 million vs. 7.0 million) and by 7% in Adults 18-49 (3.1/8 vs. 2.9/7 – an original “True Beauty” on 1/26/09).

* “Castle” achieved series-high ratings in young Adults (AD18-34/AD18-49) and key Men (M18-34/M18-49).
