Holy hot damn was this episode fun! A very nice contrast to last week's episode. I'll watch it again tomorrow but, here are a few of my favortie moments off the top of my head.

Castle trying to hide the paper.
Ryan and Esposito playing with him (any of them)
Esposito's "motherfreakin snake on a motherfreakin plane" line
The actual dates themselves.
Castle and Beckett leaving their dates.
The VERY last scene, which again ends up in an elevator. Especially Beckett twirling her hair on the way out.

Just a few a quick thoughts!

It's like the circus! But with alcohol! Why haven't I been here? You should see some of the clubs I've been to.

Well, what a relief.

smile

Guess I just had to wait one more week…

Castle: "that boy…"

Beckett: "Man, Castle. man."

heh heh heh

Wasn't Castle dressed spiffy tonight?

I was getting tired of those striped shirts of his…

Fun episode. Really enjoyed it.

Copied and pasted from the thread that I made (is there any way to delete it? More people are replying in here).

Of course, I'll make a full review after I re-watch the episode tomorrow, but for now…

Beckett's response to the newspaper: priceless. Like I imagined, another "I'm going to kill you!" "I swear I had nothing to do with this!" interaction, only this time Castle was a little more defensive. Loved how Castle and Beckett kept poking each other over the whole ordeal.
"Only number 9?"
"I'm sorry, what number are you?"
Or something to that effect.

Alexis' concern for her dad was really sweet. But don't worry Alexis, Beckett will be there to make sure he doesn't burn off his eyebrows again. :P

Esposito was all out amazing in this episode. From teasing Castle with the article (with the help of Ryan), to going on and on about Beckett's date ("I'm telling you man. Puppies.") to that look that he gave the brother in law at the end of the episode.

I suspected that "Mr. July" and "Number 3″ would get together at the restaurant. From the second that Beckett opened her mouth, you could see that it was all going downhill. The fact that Castle seemed a lot more interested in Beckett's phone calls than his date was an added bonus. And we can't forget: "Do they realize that they're finishing each others sentences?" Icing on the cake.

Glad to see that Castle and Beckett went out together at the end. And I'm just hoping that Ryan and Esposito saw Beckett twirl her hair while walking arm in arm with Castle. That would be too good to not bring up later.

This was definitely a lighter side compared to last week's episode.

Fav part was the end with Beckett twirling her hair and walking with Castle…while complaining about how flawed their dates were!! haha.

So would this be considered their first date????

Why aren't more people screaming about the awesomeness of this episode already?  I was beyond thrilled…especially with how the episode ended with Castle asking her to get food, her taking his arm, and her twirling her hair…so great!

If my husband hadn't been in the room, I would have been jumping up and down, smiling and laughing most of the episode, but he would have thought I was insane, although he laughed just as hard as me at Castle's reaction when the dead guy fell out of the fridge.

Some more of my favs:

-the whole apartment scene when Beckett called Castle a "metrosexual" and he called her date a "hose jockey"

-Esposito throughout…from teasing Castle with the paper to him taunting Castle about Beckett's date and working overtime so she could keep her date…he seemed so totally on Beckett's side!

-The whole date scene, especially the look Castle gave Beckett when he first saw her dressed up to them ignoring and leaving their dates without saying goodbye

-Alexis's concern that her dad wasn't dating someone of substance…why didn't she mention Beckett?

The only thing that bothered me was that Castle seemed upset that he had been linked to Beckett…since he's so into her, why worry about his reputation?  Isn't he ready to give that up yet?

I watched the pilot episode on DVD today since I couldn't wait until tonight's episode, and it's so cool to see how far they've come!

I can't wait 2 weeks for a new one!

Amazing again!

I think this episode will calm down those who were furious about them dating other people.

The writers just never let us down!

Highlights (not mentioned yet)

- How the editor of the newspaper tells Castle that he was all about Beckett in his interview! Amazing, wish she had heard that

- Beckett telling Castle that her date was too self-absorbed (or something like that)… the poor guy never had the chance to do so xD And I thought it was a nicely played argument, since Castle used to be the self-absorbed one (as said the editor of the paper about Castle last year's interview)

And of course I loved all the other scenes mentioned above!

Castle was probably more worried about Beckett's reaction and he did not want to show his feelings so he acted as if he was worried about his reputation

I'll bet there's a part of him that's not quite ready to give up that playboy image he likes to project. And really who says he has to? It's not true anyway. He may want to date Beckett, but that doesn't mean he wants it in the paper!

Did anyone else notice that #8 Bachelor's name was Andrew Marlowe? Cute. wink

I am so in love with this episode. Not fair that we have to wait 2 weeks to see the outcome/aftermath of the end of this one. First date, indeed!! love:

<insert choir of angels>

Hallelujah! Hallelujah!!

So very, VERY fantastic. I suspect everyone's going to hit the high notes on this one before it's over, but the thing I loved about this ep is that it went somewhere that might've been predictable then took a serious Castle-style detour. Castle and Beckett showing up at the same restaurant for their dates… I was expecting more of a cat fight on that, but they were refreshingly "adult" about the whole thing. They were there to demostrate to themselves–and possibly to each other–that they were so very not interested…

…and then they COMPLETELY blow their dates because, at the end of the day, the only two people they're in sync with at the moment is each other. This fact was handled in a fashion that was not only thrilling for the shippers in the crowd, but also downright hilarious.

I was just re-watching their first fight at the precinct and I just love how those two can from ridiculous argument to brilliant deductive skills in literally the space of a heartbeat. Oh, and Beckett trying to overhear Castle's phone was a nice callback to the scene with Castle's ear-twisting back in Season 1.

Just bloody brilliant… hands-down my favourite ep for Season 2 thus far. Love

I think that does indeed count as their first date.  And her comment when he makes the suggestion, "Oh, why not?" means she knows it might be "misinterpreted" but she doesn't care.

To me, one of the funniest moments of the episode was when Castle mentions he's "starving" and that he didn't get to finish his entree.  Beckett tells him the portions were really small.  If you'll remember, during her date the fireman asks her "are you going to eat that?" and she's so oblivious to him she doesn't even notice when he starts helping himself.  It was a tiny thing, but the devil's in the details.  Another great part?  Alexis giving her father the phone numbers for her Vice-Principal and German teacher…and then telling him about her underage friend…"maybe we can double!"

Excellent episode as always, and having a light-hearted episode follow the emotional rollercoaster of last week's heavier episode was well done.

The ending scene is my fav! (no surprise) And I love all the scenes mentioned above.

To add one, I was so happy that the writer didn't let castle apologize again at the end (Bakket totally agree with me "oh, don't, just don't") Bounce

Oh, and I love how castle sighed when Bekket took his arm, sounded like he just had a cool bear in the middle of a "heat wave" day!ROFL

"Bekket" is incorrect. It is "Beckett."
