Thanks for the reminder, kitten. I forgot about that, and I'll have to go check it out. *writes note to self* Writing

Oh and Mis, I felt like this was almost a step back in terms of Castle/Beckett relationship, but it also did in a way pay homage to some of the older episodes that weren't focused as much on their relationship. I still liked it even if it was "an episode for the dudes"Laugh (though I don't think it was the baseball that I didn't care for as much).

The scene where they're tossing the baseball around – Beckett totally snagging it when Ryan and Esposito are tossing it around, and it flying right over Castle's shoulder and him not even noticing when it was tossed it his way. I totally guffawed out loud to the point I had to rewind what happened afterward so that I could hear it. Hahah!

Lol, what's funnier about Castle missing the ball is that he did notice. ;)
He's holding his hand up to catch it (that's why the ball came his way, I'm figuring) and it sails right on past. Evidently he can't be bothered to move his hand to make sure he grabs it- it's just gotta hit him in the hand, lol. ROFL

I loved that moment. I think that the ball was just thrown to him as he entered out of reflex – it was being passed around the whole team.

Yea even though it was a little slow for me, it was a great episode over all.

The "I knew it was you" and "soft hands" lines were ad libbed by Nathan.

wow, Kitten what a nice fact.
I don't remember the "i knew it was you" part, but I guess I"ll have to go back and see it again. :)
I hope I can see it on ABC. Usually when I watch ABC videos, it doesn't like me.
Maybe I can download for the non-US fans.
I'm at school, so I'll do it later tonight, if I can.

———————————————————-
When Beckett spelled out her name, that was great! hehe

When Castle and Beckett were talking about bathing suits and Cuba, that reminded me of their conversation when Castle called her out of her sparing session and she told him that she had a date with his book.

Ah, the ending.
I knew the baseball thing wasn't going to work out and Alexis probably knew that even before she gave her dad the glove. Bounce
But it was priceless, I'll give them that.

Castle: Just waiting for my partner. Maybe you've seen her, pretty girl, thinks she can leap tall buildings in a single bound,

carries the weight of the world on her shoulders, yet still manages to laugh at some of my jokes.

Beckett: She sounds like a handful.

Castle: Tell me about it. Anyway…if you do see her, tell her she owns me….about 100 coffees.

molly_littlecastle, the "I knew it was you" was at the beginning of the ep when Castle was at home and they were talking about mindreading and the phone rang and it was Beckett about the murder. castle said "I knew it was you".

So cute that some of those were ad libbed…I need to try to watch the abc.com version.

OMG – I just went back and watched it again and you are absolutely right! He was so nonchalant about it that I didn't even pick it up on first watch. hahahaha! Brilliant!

neodnut – I didn't feel like it was a step back in their relationship, I just felt like we didn't get to see as much of it at the forefront as we're used to, that's all. I still enjoyed it – it would be difficult for me to NOT enjoy a Castle episode. The actors could show up and read the phone book and I'd still like it. LOL

I think if there was an obvious step forward in the B-C relationship every episode things would be moving too fast.

Joe Molina said the part where Beckett catches the ball and throws it behind the back, it took only 2-3 takes. The shot they took was the second shot. But he said when the close up part came, Stana kept dropping the ball but it didn't matter anyway.

While it wasn't a step forward, I didn't see anything that suggested a step back. It just was what it was if that makes sense.

I agree Admin. While I'd love to see some Beckett-Castle action in every episode, for it to move slow, they need to do an episode occasionally that focuses on the case or on one of their two lives.

I was wondering about that Marbs, how many takes her flipping the ball behind her back took. I'm hoping to see those few outtakes on the gag reel for the Season 2 DVDs. ROFL

As some of us (myself included) have pointed out over on abc.com, Beckett's swimsuit-comment (loosing it's momentum from being a sneak peek) was a step forward in the relationship, because when have we ever heard her make such a flirtatious comment to Castle before? Making him picture her in a bathing suit? Making herself into the object of desire? That's new!

I wish I knew how to quit you.

OK I'm probably going to get excommunicated here but I don't particularly care if Rick & Kate do get together Shock

Their 'romance' is not the reason I watch the show, its the drama and the murders. The humour and witty banter not how fast our leads can hook up. I much prefer the episodes that are about the murders and Rick & Kate working together to catch them.

I'm not saying I never want them too but the show is so much more than just that. I agree with Jose I most definitely do not want our beloved Castle ending up as lame as Hart to Hart (apologies to any fans of that show), Castle is unique with the most talented cast & crew so lets enjoy all the aspects of this wonderful show and stop only focusing on the 'romance'

That's just my thoughts OK (runs and hides)

Perhaps I'm lame, but I actually liked Hart to Hart. For me, the crimes are more or less background. The unique relationship between the two and progression within it and the relationships between the other characters are what make me tune in. If I wanted a hardcore mystery, I'd watch L&O. I'm not really a procedural person to be honest. I think that is why I like Castle –it is generally so much more.

Couldn't agree more. Not a fan of procedurals myself either, "Castle" is so much more than this, the characters development and the relationship between Kate and Rick is the main reason I'm watching the show. I think Monday's episode is among my ten least favourite ones. Jose screwed up in the relationship development area seriously.

I guess you know you just broke this heart.Sad
This is THE ROMANCE of the decade. They could be selling used cars for all I care.Well maybe not.lol
I like the shows murder mystery plots just fine but really it's all about B & C getting together that keeps me coming back week after week.

Nope sorry but its not for me, our writer's are far too talented to just go down that boring old path.

That "boring old path" is the reason many of us are glued to our TVs every week or several times a week after the episodes are aired (with some exception, when the relationship factor is not there). Our writers are talented enough to make it really interested to watch and still have a lot of fun with it. Why the hell do you think that when the pair gets together the show cannot be fun anymore?

First of all I never said the show could not be fun when/if they get together and second of you should try a bit of politeness.

if all I wanted was 'romance' I'd go and read a Mills & Boons, I want more than that from the show.

Heart breaker ! (formerly SydneyDeb)
A good romance is never boring.I have been following that path all my life.
Writers are very talented though and i'll bet they all want to advance the romantic parts of the show.Probably a lottery to see who gets to write that episode where B & C finally have a romantic kiss.

I'm with you Deb. It's all about the characters and the story, and if that leads to a romance someday than our writers will do an awesome job with it I'm sure. But I don't want them to sacrifice the awesome things about the show just to advance the romance.

I am definitely on your side Deb. I would like to see them grow closer and if that leads to a romance then that's great. But if I just want to see romance I'll watch a soap opera or late-night cable TV.

Castle is about so much more than Beckett and Castle hooking up, and even if they eventually do start dating I want the show to continue to be about more than their romance. It is definitely NOT "all about the romance" for me.
