Suicide Squeeze is a baseball term. It's when the batter bunts so the runner on third base can try and score. It's not the best move to use on a field so it's called a suicide squeeze (because the batter is committing suicide to let the runner score).

This episode will be baseball themed! I'm so excited!

I am at work using my phone to write this, but the Entertainment Weekly guy says Joe Torre (ex-Yankees and now Dodgers manager) will be guest starring on this episode. I guess Beckett is a huge Torre (maybe Yankees since this is set in NY?) fan. I am super excited, huge Yankees fan here.

Thanks for putting up the link, m_hanh! I was too excited to figure out how to paste a link in from my phone. I think this episode's going to be awesome! I wonder if Castle will be a Mets fan to stir up rivalry, although he did mention the Yankees bullpen at the end of The Double Down.

None of this means a thing to me. My take away was "Beckett has a mini meltdown" and so that will be fun, but my knowledge and understanding of anything sports related is about a -3 so… Crazy

Ray Wise is actually an actor. He was the Devil on Reaper. Very good bit actor.

Had to laugh when reading this blurb. Beckett has a meltdown when seeing Joe Torre, are you kidding me lol!
Maybe one of the Yankee players but Joe Torre. Beckett seems to be the fan of some interesting fellas Rick Castle & Joe Torre funny.
I love the Yankees and I love the Dodgers so this baseball episode theme will be fine and dandy for me. I just want Kate to only have meltdowns concerning The Castle Man! Giggle!

I loved the doctored picture with Castle and Beckett looking suspiciously at Joe Torre. Bounce

IMW, Joe Torre was the Yankees manager when they won all those titles in the late 1990s/early 2000. Now he's the Dodgers manager, and he's totally cool. He's also a former catcher.

Ray Wise is cool also. This episode is sounding better and better. You know, I'm currently on the fence, but this might steer me to the Team Jose side of things…

Also, is Castle getting pre-empted for something in January or February? I know here it's listed at airing on the 1st, but the Entertainment Weekly article says that it's airing on Feb. 8th.

Does anybody know when they start filiming this episode? By my count, it should be today, but I'm not sure how the holidays effected everything. I know that Jon Huertas read the script yesterday and Jose said he was make adjustments last night. So did they start today?

OK, too funny, they re-wrote this blurb on EW "Beckett has a mini meltdown" originally they had "Beckett passes out"  too funny.  But better because her passing out sounds kind of lame, but mini-meltdown, hey we all have that one person we squee about :)
