Marc Berman gave it an honorable mention in his recap. That doesn't happen very often. Castle did a good job of holding the numbers out of The Bachelor lead in. And the gap is closing between Castle and CSI: Miami. L&O didn't have an impact like I thought it might either. The DVR numbers have been exceptional too.

Having said all that am I the only one who is a little disappointed that it fell another tick in the key demo? I'm not being negative nor am I worried about a renewal or anything like that. We see all the positive stuff listed above and the break between episodes doesn't help momentum either. It just bums me to see it logging numbers closer to the beginning of the season than what we were doing in the middle to later episodes.

Maybe I shouldn't have said anything. I listed all the good stuff and mentioned that the hiatus probably hurt the momentum it was building. Hard for people to keep up with how crazy the schedule has been. I was just bummed is all. But I think we can all agree that it will finish the season out strong with a string of consecutive episodes.

Agree, it's definitely extremely confusing for the casual viewers.

Considering the month we had off, I think it's doing pretty good. Our schedule in the back half is getting confusing, so the fact that we are still holding a solid audience after a whole month really says something. It would be nice if it were higher, obviously, but given the circumstances, I'm not complaining

I am definitely in agreement that given the hiatus and the ratings for CSI Miami and L&O this week in comparison and the moderate lead-in from the bachelor (less than anticipated), that these numbers aren't unexpected.  I had been worried about L&O adding more competition, so I am glad that they seem not to have made too much of an impact!  Castle should give viewers a great alternative to the competition going forward!

But I'm with Jamz in being a little bummed.  November and January were such good months for Castle ratings, and I was just hoping they'd hold at that level or grow.

I continue to try to do what I can in terms of recruiting new viewers (too bad I don't know any Nielsen families!) and emailing/calling ABC and voting in polls.  I just wish I could do more!

I am really hopeful Castle is going to get some great ratings with 17/18 and a string of new episodes.  This show is SO good and deserves so much more attention…but I know everyone here already knows that!
