The Mistress Of Awesomeness.. aka Stana Katic,
Individually they are great characters, together they are dynamite.

Brilliant! Bounce

Totally agree with this !!!

Such a great épisode …again !!

Lots of great moments and lines between Castle/Beckett :

- Castle's smile when his phone rings and he sees it’s Beckett,

- Castle: OK, what aren't you telling me?
Beckett: So much, Castle. So very very much.

- Castle: Does she know we can hear her?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v…..re=related

- no thanks.  I've already got a pair of my own" Beckett about the handcuffs,

- Castle nonverbally telling Alexis not to eat Grandma's dinner

- Kate mentioned that she wouldn't bring her boyfrined to the station either. That's when Castle concluded that Kate has a boyfriend. So the man is jealous, Castle : did I miss something ? " and Beckett 's smile !!!

- "Answer her ! " from Beckett and Castle's reaction.Oh, yes, I've been dying to watch him squirm. Can we also gag him / ma safe word : Apples !!  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v…..re=related

- Alexis who wants becomming a cheerleder and after Castle ask if Kate wanted to become a cheerleder too : familly moment !! so cute

- Line from Beckett after that scene about the case :" it's an interne not Jason Bourne !! "

- Beckett : Juge Markway please

Castle : oh sound like someone will get punished !!

- Castle, you afraid of a little role play !! Yeah, you better run

this scene : "http://www.youtube.com/watch?v…..c9az3Pj5YU

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v…..re=related

- cute moment with Jenny. I hope she'll come back

- Beckett'smile when castle find the true killer

- Beckett : "At the end Castle was right…."

- the ending scene "What's the matter, Ricky, You jealous?'..LOL..and then the 'let's just start with the first day we met"

A very respectable first effort, but it also explains why I might be alone in saying this episode felt like formulaic old school Castle (hence the Pilot references); crime, obligatory Beckett/Castle sexual tension, Beckett dominance etc. Not that that's a big deal, it makes sense a new writer would want to make sure they hit all the key notes their first time out. It's just from ep to ep I've been really impressed by the level of attention to and steady growth/progress in Castle and Beckett's relationship (with the exception of Suicide Squeeze ). I feel there's been an increasing degree of equality, trust, respect, emotional intimacy and so on between them……So The Mistress Always Spanks Twice left me feeling somewhat status quo and even a bit digressed. Every ep doesn't have to be advancement, it can just be fun which this was, none the less after the string of strong eps in which I thought Castle/Beckett made significant strides..

-A Rose For Everafter ( Castle opening the proverbial door for Beckett)
-Sucker Punch (Beckett letting Castle "in")
-The Third Man (their first "date")

The last two eps have just been ok for me. Which is why I am absolutely salivating for Tick, Tick, Tick and Boom.

I couldn't have said it better.  I felt the same way.  There's been a pace to the show that I absolutely love.  The last two episodes have seemed a little stagnate which is fine considering Kate and Castle seem to be in a good place. The two had their playful banter but it seemed to fall short of the love that we know the two have for each other.  I need to feel the love……Love2.  I did like that Ryan described Castle as being 'whipped'.  That means that everyone is aware of the affair going on between Castle and Beckett.  Hopefully, they'll soon realize it….Cool.

Suicide Squeeze definitely stalled things for me in terms of C/B relationship/emotional development, but I really enjoyed this episode, and felt that it added to the progression of their relationship.  There certainly wasn't much in the way of emotional content, but I liked the aspect of Beckett teasing Castle and having the upper hand.  Beckett also reminded Castle that, whether or not her teasing was based in truth, she is still somewhat of a mystery to him, and he's going to need to continue to work to get to know what's underneath.  I enjoy when Beckett is more relaxed, and she certainly seemed comfortable dishing it out to Castle in the episode, which was tied up with a nice moment of camaraderie between them.

But I'm sure the next 2 episodes will fuel much more relationship development with the more serious content.

cheers Vandi…exactly-I need to feel the love lol.
But like you said, the whipped part was cool because there was a definite parallel there to Ryan and his girlfriend in a good way. Esposito had been relentlessly teasing Ryan, and it turns out his gf was an exceptional woman that any guy would feel lucky to have. I love that Castle makes no qualms about being happily "whipped" by Beckett, but he can hold his own too. Even more endearing though is how Castle holds Beckett in such high regard, that he considers himself out of her league.

Beckett also reminded Castle that, whether or not her teasing was based in truth, she is still somewhat of a mystery to him, and he's going to need to continue to work to get to know what's underneath

Good point dmcw- Beckett is still full of surprises and I'm certain she'll never bore Castle.

I think the thing that got me about Suicide Squeeze was I thought it uncharacteristic of Beckett to be somewhat flippant about Castle's father issues…despite his making jokes about it. I am a KB fangirl through and through, that just threw their vibe off for me a little.

I'm with you on that.   I had said the same thing during the post-episode discussion for suicide squeeze.   Although many felt that Beckett was not being thoughtless in that comment, it came across a little that way to me since she and Castle had never discussed his father before that comment was made.

I watched that scene the other day and I agree it did seem out of character for her.  She's never shied away from teasing Castle or yanking Castle's chain, but she's always stayed away from teasing him or ragging on him about his family.  I wouldn't call it flippant though, but I'd definitely say she was insensitive to him.  As much as I like the two of them, I hope that if she does it again, he draws a line in the sand and calls her on it.  He's already made it clear that talking about his breakup with Kyra is over-the-line (the elevator scene in A Rose Forever After here Castle says "It was a long time ago.") which Beckett seemed to respect, and this would teach us a little more about where his boundaries, few as they may be, are.  Not to mention, show off his vulnerable side.

Agree with both you ladies…flippant was the wrong word, insensitive is much better. Castle let Beckett's comments slide but Esposito wasn't so lucky. Then again, he didn't know when to stop talking LOL.

I think you're right dmcw-it probably just came across as thoughtless b/c we had never heard the topic of Castle's father broached before between them. Although Beckett did say "famously" fatherless so apparently it was public knowledge. Still, a bit OOC but I blame the writers more than the character.

I also like what you said Nev; how Castle drew a line in the sand with the topic of Kyra. It's really the first time we see a nerve struck in him. He withdraws and becomes mad at Beckett (i.e. kicking him out of the interrogation room), and it's also the first time she sees that side of him and is on the receiving end of insecurity as to where she stands with him. In order for her to truly love Castle, she has to respect him and I don't think she can do that w/o those boundaries you spoke of…..

It seems we're coming to that crossroads where Castle is finally becoming comfortable enough to feel entitled to his anger and annoyance with her, instead of behaving as though he always deserves to be in the doghouse. Imo, it's a necessary evil so they can become more equal and lay a solid foundation for a healthy relationship.

Next ep clip spoilers:

I think we'll see more of that come out in Tick, Tick, Tick. Castle appears kind of annoyed not at Beckett's jealousy of the FBI Agent, imo, but her transparent cover-up (to us at least) that he's acting like a child again just b/c he's not giving Beckett his full attention. Dare he says she is being "ridiculous" http://castletv.net/wp-content/forum-smileys/smile-shock.gif. Poor girl…Beckett's so insecure and adorable there, but she did take a jab so….

Castlemuse….I agree that it was more about the writers and less about the character.  Honestly, the comment left me more confused than anything.  I mean is it common knowledge amongst his fans that he is 'fatherless'?  It seemed as though she felt comfortable saying it because it was something that has always been out and as though Castle has capitalized on it a bit.  The 1st time we hear about his father (or lack of) is when Castle comments to Martha about not knowing who his father is.  His tone is light and he appears to have be okay about it.  The next time it's brought up is during Alexis' project and we realize that he does feel his life is fragmented by his not knowing his father.  Then it comes up again with the Beckett comment.  I believe the writers meant the comment to be harmless but it rubbed the wrong way because we had just seen Castle's dismay over the situation.  I can forgive the writers for not thinking that one through but I expect more thoughtfulness in future episodes.

Nev……I think with Kyra, Castle was coming to terms with his feelings.  There seemed to be no closure with the two.  Her getting married meant that he had to let her go and it made it okay for her to move on with her new man.  In addition, it gave Beckett a chance to see that he really is capable of love…real genuine love.  I don't know if Castle necessarily set the boundaries or whether Beckett recognized the boundaries as she saw that it was a sensitive subject for Castle. Either way I liked the tension.  I liked seeing Castle man up which is why I am so for Castle making the first move….the final move….the move that takes them officially to the next level.  CoolCoolCool

Ok, now that I finally got to see this episode, and I have to say I enjoyed it very much.

The saliva thing as the clincher piece of evidence seems slightly shaky but was enough to get the killer to confess; it could have used a bit more concrete evidence.

The way Beckett and Castle bantered was very fun to watch, especially at the dungeon.

Dina Meyer did great as Irina in the dungeon, but watching her on NCIS a few weeks back it seemed like she was playing a similar cold-hearted character in Interrogation… Stana and Mark Harmon could have be interchanged in that scene, so I was a little disappointed in that scene (on Dina's part, not Stana or Nathan).

The cooking scene; fun family scene… and also explains Nathan's tweet a while asking people to send comments about someone using too much salt; he was looking for a good "ad-lib" line for that episode.

Someone asked how the killer got the victim to hang; remember the suitcase tracks? Not only did it store the hidden body to get there, but was probably also used to hold the body up high enough to get the cuffs on her so she would hang from them.

The computer scene with Alexis was classic… "Is there something you need to tell me?" Beautiful.

Overall, a very good episode… small hitches, but very solid.

Just my thoughts on the episode.

was wondering why Lady Irena looked so familiar. so i checked imdb, and turns out she's also in the episode in CSI Miami where Stana appeared, she was the one who 'finished' the  guy that Stana tried to kill. haha. :D

I'm not sure about my facts, but I've sure I've seen Lady Irena on Ally McBeal (one episode where she's a lawyer who likes to manipulate people with her killer smile) — hence the inside joke of Lady Irena being a former lawyer and partner of a firm!

I just rewatched this ep last night.  Oh, there are just sooo many great lines, facial expressions etc.

I'll admit the storyline itself wasn't my favorite at all though..but it definitely allowed for some fun and different interaction between all the characters. :)

That said, I am definitely ready for this Monday's new ep. :)

I was trolling tmz.com today, because apparently I'm just that bored, and I stumbled across one of those "where are they now pics". I recognized the guy who was in this ep, his name is Devon Gummersall.  So I was a little curious about his back story and I clicked on his pic.

This is the link, nothing special really…..

But this line caught my eye and peeved me a bit.  I guess I should actually be sorry that the person who wrote this up hasn't yet discovered this "new" show called Castle.  But really?  I hope they're being sarcastic with this, or they're just ignorant.

He recently appeared in one episode of some new TV show called "Castle."
