Wine glass in the dishwasher - this seemed odd......

The killer roomie held up the wine glass with Mistress Red lipstick onit and said " I was EMPTYING the dishwasher when I found this".  If one is emptying a dishwasher, aren't the dishes clean?  Did she have a bad machine or something?  Seemed odd not to say she was LOADING the dishwasher when she found the strange glass….

Just wondering if that seemed normal to others!

I figured the lipstick just hadn't come off in the cycle.  That sometimes happens with our dishwasher if the lipstick is long-wearing stuff and wasn't cleaned off a glass before it was loaded.

Maybe because since it's just two of them in the apartment, they probably don't use that much dishes and therefore handwashes them instead and uses the dishwasher as a rack to hang and dry them off. Like dmcw said, the lipstick is probably a long-lasting one that doesn't come off easily and maybe the glass wasn't thoroughly cleaned.

We could also say that the dishes had already been washed and just needed to be put away. Since Mistress Red doesn't live in the apartment, she wouldn't know the cycle it's on, thus putting her glass in there, hoping it would be washed.

I thought the roommate left it unwashed and just said it was because she wanted to divert suspicion from herself?

Exactly.  few dish washers are that good. Smile

Weird thing was, later in the box while interogating the Mistress, the lipstick looked "fresh" as if never washed.

Yes, that's her story that didn't ring true and seemed like she wanted to frame Mistress Red lipstick.

Sorry, my inital thought was was what moron puts good crystal wine glasses in a dishwasher with normal dishes?  LOL Sorry but it was gut reaction and so the person doing that wasn't very smart to begin with. Then a fellow watcher pointed out that you can have steamware that is dishwasher safe.

That would be known as a "continuity error"… happens a lot when scenes are shot out of order; the pic of the lipstick stained glass was probably taken before the apartment scene with the washed glass. I usually give those kinds of things the benefit of the doubt unless it's pretty blatantly out of place (like Nathan wearing a green shirt during a scene and then switching to a blue one later in the same scene with no logical explanation).
