Exclusive: 'Castle' pairs Dana Delany with a Hero

Desperate Housewives‘ Dana Delany will have some backup when she crosses over to Castle later this season.
Ex-Heroes star Leonard Roberts has been cast as the partner of Delany’s kick-ass federal agent character, sources confirm to me exclusively.
In the two-part episode, the first of which is conveniently scheduled to air immediately following Housewives on March 21, the feds (a.k.a. Delany and Roberts) are brought in to assist Castle and Beckett on a serial killer case. The conclusion airs the following night in Castle’s regular Monday-at-10 timeslot.
In related news, ABC — no doubt encouraged by Castle’s season-high ratings on Monday — just increased the show’s episode order from 22 to 24.

Reunites with Nathan Fillion from Time on "Desperate Housewives"

Actress Dana Delany ("Desperate Housewives") will guest star in two episodes of "Castle" airing Sunday, March 21 and Monday, March 22 (both nights 10:00-11:00 p.m., ET) on ABC. This will reunite Delany and Nathan Fillion, who played Dr. Adam Mayfair, the younger husband of Katherine Mayfair (Delany) on "Desperate Housewives."

In the special two-part storyline, Delany will play Federal Agent Jordan Shaw — an insightful and accomplished Federal Investigator who teams with Richard Castle and Detective Beckett to hunt down a cunning and elusive serial killer.

"We're thrilled to have the opportunity to work with such a talented and versatile actress as Dana, and we're grateful to Marc Cherry and our partners at ABC for helping to make this happen," said "Castle" Creator/Executive Producer Andrew Marlowe. "She and Nathan were so great together on 'Desperate Housewives,' we're all excited to see them together again."

This episode appears at this point for me to be pivotal one in the forward movement of the Castle- Beckett relationship. The two parter of going after a serial killer will somehow tie into Beckett's Mom's murder so I am really looking forward to this one maybe even a return of Beckketts dad. Tick & Boom , not sure in the real form of bomb and explosions or in what they find out about the serial killer and if they catch the serial killer or if the serial killer is only one part of a very huge puzzle that moves the story of Beckett's Mom further in the series. I am thinking someone gets hurt in this episode most likely Beckett, either shot or injured(knifed) in some way by the serial killer going after her at some point in the two hours of air time. Might really bring Beckett and Castle closer if he goes into Castle protection mode, instead of her always saving his life and protecting him from the bad guys on cases he in turn is the protector of her with not only his physical presence but with his mind. Beckett's emotions might be in high gear going after the serial killer and /or being attacked by the serial killer, and Castle might be the one who actually keeps his head in this one. All speculation on my part I can be so way off here and it be nothing like this, that's the fun of pre discussion how much do we get right with guessing plots. I am hopeful Castle finally shows up at Kate's apt. in this two parter to check on her or to stay and protect her either way go there Castle!

I am hoping the writers don't make Castle attracted to the FBI agent played by Delaney,I hope they don't go that way. I know they played ex spouses on DH but I don't want him to be exchanging sexy banter with the FBI gal would seem off the mark anyhow but this is TV Land. Flirting with her in front of Beckett turns me off, maybe others think that is fun but not me TV Fantasy land or not.
I want Castle to be all about Kate and Kate all about him even if they don't see it yet themselves. I think this episode is going to pivot them down the right road or at least the one I want them to take.

I don't think a serial killer has anything to do with Beckett's mom's murder. I could be wrong but why would a serial killer hire another man to kill her?

I'm with the last few posters.
I mean, the "serial" ended up being a contract killer. Unless there is some twist that we really don't see coming, it seems unlikely that this is a direct link to the murder of Johanna Beckett. The good news is, time will tell.
