This Monday Dancing With The Stars returned as Castle's Lead in. Expect the final numbers to drop slightly after adjustingi for the 2 minute overrun. Initial results give Castle a 3.6 and 12.94 million viewers beating CSI and smashing all previous weeks ratings There will be some adjustment for Dancing With the Stars Overrun but this is a fantastic result.

Wow. Great promos always is a plus. ABC needs to do more of this. The best thing about is that we beat CSI: Miami. Did i ever say how much i detest that show? I'd only watch the episode with Stana. Other than that, I cannot stand David Caruso and his damn sunglasses.

WOW! Great ratings for a great episode. I love that Castle beat out the other shows. Just shows what I've known all along…Castle is the best show on tv.

I was sure that the DWTS premiere would bring in some viewers and after watching last nights episode of Castle I'm sure there are nothing but new series long fans as a result.
Marbs…I feel you on the whole David Caruso and his sunglasses thing. The part was actually written for Jimmy Smits who is way cooler. So glad we helped to knock CSI:Miami off its perch.

ABC's Castle finished #1 in the 10 oclock hour over original drama
competition in Total Viewers (12.9 million) and Adults 18-49 (3.6/10),
beating a first-run episode of CBS veteran CSI: Miami (10.7 million and
3.2/9) for the first time ever, and more than doubling the overall
audience of NBCs Law & Order (5.9 million and 1.8/5) and beating the
NBC veteran by 100% in Adults 18-49. Surging over its performance on
the year-ago night in Total Viewers (+42%) and Adults 18-49 (+44%),
Castle achieved the series highest numbers ever. In fact Castle
delivered ABCs biggest audience in the time period with a scripted
series telecast since 2001 and its top Adult 18-49 number since 2006
since 3/12/01 and 3/27/06, respectively.

Seriously, I never saw the appeal of David Caruso even when he was on NYPD Blue. I always found him so unattractive.

Thanks for the ABC press release. There has to be a lot of happy execs over there right now.
I'm surprised this is a series high though. I would have thought the premiere would hold that record since most shows start off really high then tend to drop afterwards.
But holy crap the best total viewers since 2001 and best key demo since 2006? Hell yeah.
