But Delany won’t be playing Katherine Mayfair, she’ll be playing Federal Agent Jordan Shaw.
Why this almost unprecedented move? Try ulterior motives. The network likely is hoping that Delany’s presence will draw more eyeballs to Castle, particularly since her first episode will air on Sunday, March 21 at 10 pm/ET following — duh — Housewives. (Brothers & Sisters has the week off.) The Emmy winner’s second Castle, which reunites her with her Desperate ex, Nathan Fillion, will air in the series’ regular Monday-at-10 timeslot on March 22.

Yay, I love Dana Delany! It'll be nice to see the two of them together again. It seems like ABC is trying to increase viewership of the show, so that's great news.

ABC seems to be doing everything they can to get more viewers tuned into Castle. I'm really liking our chances for season 3 more and more.

I'm not really worried at all about season three… I'm more worried about season four since NBC is throwing their hat back into the 10pm drama slot.

I think S3 is a fairly safe bet.
I do find it interesting that they're going to try airing an episode behind that of Desp. Housewives. I'm wondering if they're looking to phase out Brothers & Sisters or possibly move it to another night next season and perhaps they want to see how Castle does? The Desp Housewives lead in may be great for Castle too.
No strong feelings on Dana Delaney other than any big name Castle can get should be a plus for viewership. : )

NBC is struggling so unless they throw some all-star cast up against Castle I don't see them challenging the show yet.
I'm more curious to see when Castle will wrap up this season. Most shows end in May. Castle will have aired 18 episodes by March 22nd.

I figure they'll probably end mid – late April? I mean, March 22 and they've still got 4 more episodes after that, so late April sounds about right to me.

late april sounds really early for a finale. most shows finale in late may. i bet they'll just have a bunch of breaks in between their last four episodes.

I'm excited about this, Dana Delany is awesome! I just hope they promote the first episode really well so everybody knows it's on a different night.

Actually, there are 6 episodes after March 22, because ABC has ordered two more (providing we're talking March 22 being episode 18). That gives season 2 a grand total of 24 episodes. But, I'm optimistic about a third season and future seasons. I mean, this show is actually about something and it's got something to build off of (unlike those other flops ABC has been premiering in the past few years).
As for Dana Delany, I'm ecstatic that she's guest starring! Since I'm a fan of both "Castle" and "Desperate Housewives," it's cool to see the two shows cross and to see Dana and Nathan working together again. Plus, it'll be interesting to see Dana in a role so different from her DH character.

First of all, I think it's great that she'll be in Castle. Because the more viewers the merrier, right?
Plus it's going to be a double episode, meaning we're going to get two new Castle episodes in two days! I'm really excited.
