Wow what an incredible episode definitely a good ending to a two-parter. I agree with everyone, Castle and Beckett's relationship has gone forward even if neither of them will agree with it. I loved it when Beckett is cooking breakfast at Castle's and he walks in and says 'i just woke up and literally smelt the coffee. AND THE BACON' haha made me laugh because last episode he payed Beckett out for having mouldy bacon.
hopefully next week will be just as good.
HAHA. I totally didn't even think of that! Didn't Castle mention in last week's epi that he was hoping for bacon and eggs but had to make pancakes instead(because Beckett's bacon had something furry growing on it)?

And then this episode…Beckett makes Castle those bacon and eggs. Oh the cuteness!

OfflineWhen Castle returns home after the blast at Becketts and they find the hidey hole in Ben's appartment, Alexis asks him a question and he answers: "We know more now and have a strategy"
sounded vaguely familiar to me then I thought of "We have good leads, solid leads" when Castle is trying to convince Beckett that they can find her mom's murderer.
Foreshadowing? – I don't know, but I thought that it was an interesting coincidence and we all know that Castle does not believe in coincidences – not that this serial murderer is in any way connected to Mrs. Beckett's murder. They have more and better evidence to tackle Beckett's mom case.

OfflineAH! What can I say?
"Tick, Tick, Tick, BOOM!" rocked. It fulfilled its role as the quasi-pilot for the newcomers from DWTS & DH. It pleased us long-term fans ('long term' here meaning mid-season last year, of course…). I'm hoping that the errant flings they throw at the show are brief, because the connection and on-screen chemistry between RC & KB was at its most mature during this episode duo. The tie-ins were great- I couldn't help but think of the "Sucker Punch" conclusion when Castle shot his gun to save Beckett. Over this two-episode arc, I saw Castle at its best. Any small complaint I had about RC during the pilot or KB during parts of the first season is dead and buried (and exhumed and replaced with potatoes). The show is coming into its own- the acting, the writing, the… intangibles. And the ratings are beginning to reflect it. After a solid mainstream audience gets built from strong DWTS lead-ins and the show's own peerless merit, I forsee a long and fruitful run, something that everyone (especially Nathan and Stana) deserve. Ladies and gentlemen, the bar has been set.

Woah. It was such an awesome episode for all of the aforementioned reasons. PLUS CASTLE TROUNCED CSI MIAMI
WOOHOO!
I do have a question though. Loads of y'all have mentioned a Beckett/Alexis scene from the spoilers that's been cut. I've been looking through the spoilers everywhere again and can't seem to find it. Could someone point me in the right direction?
Can a kind soul also post the episode commentary here for the benefit of non-US fans?
(Edit: strike that. Thanks lmr32385!)
Cheers.
The Beckett/Alexis scene is implied by the pictures released some time ago, you can see them at http://www.gettyimages.com/Sea…..stle%20abc#
ahh, okay. thanks unniw!

nice connection.
slightly off topic but… i went back to watch that scene and noticed that castle walked into the shot from the direction his den is, not down from upstairs… i thought all the bedrooms were upstairs? where is castle's bedroom?

Offlinei was thinking of the very first episode in which she fooled castle into getting her backup from her glove compartment so that she could handcuff him the car and leave him behind… in this episode she gives him her backup gun and and asks him to stay with her.
how have things changed in their relationship (for the better)…

Actually we don't know it, they never showed us Castle's bedroom so far.

OfflineI really liked this episode. I have found that the more serious
storylines tend to be the better episodes in my opinion so this was
right up my alley.
I also hope that they will bring Dana Delaney back at some point. I don't think she needs to be a series regular simply because I don't think that would really work all that well, but I wouldn't mind seeing her again for another two episode arc next season. I really like her character.
One scene that I thought Stana totally nailed was when her voice shakes when she asks Castle if he has a better idea. It is a very simply scene, but she is able to convey so much with her tone and expression there.
The
one complaint I have is the beginning when he finds her. I know that
they try to keep things light on Castle and it generally works, but I
felt both of them were far too flippant. Joking is all well and good,
but I thought they kind of dropped the ball on that first scene when he
finally gets her out of the tub. For all he knows, she's just been
blown to pieces and so one would assume he'd seem a little more
relieved when he finds her. I'm okay with the lack of serious injury and I can overlook the logistics of the explosion but I think that first scene was just lacking. There was time for humor later but within that scene and so quickly, it didn't really work for me.

i thought we've seen the inside of his bedroom, but not where his bedroom is in loft?
remember castle and meredith (aka deep fried twinkie) making out in his bed? pictures falling down, headboard breaking off?

You think it was Castle's bedroom? Somehow I got impression from that episode that it was rather Meredith's room in the hotel…

I probably should wait a little longer to post but since everyone is gushing over the episode I just need some opinions from the Ladies on this site.
So………. the whole thing between Beckett and Shaw about Castle,Shaw and Kira,(A Rose for Everafter)both outsiders see Castles feelings for Beckett. What I don't understand is Becketts whole "well with Castle it's complicated" and then Shaw's knowing "ahhh" comment and look as if she understands perfectly. Let me in on the secret please. What the hell is so complicated?
The burning apartment,Castle knocking down the door to get to Beckett,(the woman he loves)and her whole modesty thing in the tub just dosen't play well for this fan.She gets his jacket and walks out through burning rubble ……give me a break. So does she have a tramp stamp on her pubic bone she dosen't want Castle to see, perhaps some tattoo of a past boyfriend's name ,a hideous scar….what,I just don't get it.
Otherwise an okay episode. I for one do not think it moved the ship forward and believe me I want it to move bigtime.
A little help here would be appreciated. I'm just confused. Enlighten me.
Well, I managed to make a mess out of it already, my first reply and I did it wrong
; what else is new.
Complicated just doesn't begin to describe it. In mostly any other line of work it probably could work out if they manage to keep their professional and personal life separate. Let me put it this way; should they be in a romantic relationship, will Castle be able to take a step back and watch Beckett go into lifethreatening situations without trying to interfere in any way whatsoever even if it kills him? To take a step back and let her do her job? If he can, then there's a chance it'll work out, if he can't and they choose to be romantically involved, then he either can't folllow her around anymore or she has to look for a desk job. Yes, it is very complicated. They will need to do a lot of soulsearching and absolute honesty with themselves and eachother if they want to make it work. Groundrules to be negotiated etc…etc…
About that modesty thing. After the way Castle says: ' oh, and you're naked' in that tone of voice…well, let's say I would also have second thoughts about just jumping up and stepping out of the bathtub without wearing anything, especially as he doesn't leave you indifferent and it would've been the first time he saw you naked, so yes, that modesty thing totally works for me and as for walking through burning rubble, there can't have been that much; she's a big girl and can take care of herself.
And the last topic; what??? Move forward bigtime and ruin the suspence???
I very much like the pace they're setting; I'm having way too much fun watching their interaction. By the way, they did move it forward and in my opinion big time, trust is the name of the game.

i thought it was? the stainless steel trim on the bedroom door (it's in the background as they were talking on the floor) matches the other doors in his loft (eg. front door)?

OfflineThe only think I was disappointed about in "Boom!" was the lack Beckett/Alexis scene we saw the pictures of. I really hope this scene will be included in the DVD release.
I'm thinkingthat image was shot when the actoprs were probably on break. Just talking.
Even these pictures were not part of the episode. They were probably just sitting there talking and you can see Stana slightly blushing or something. I'm thinking Nathan probably said something funny.

But I do think this scene was taken out and I do hope to see it when the DVD for Season 2 comes out.
