Beckett probably has the best jackets/coats on TV. Well, her and Ellen of Damages. I love the brown one with the belt, and zipper instead of buttons that she wore last night. Anyone know where I could get one of those? I'm planning on buying one anyway for a trip.
I think this is the one that Seamus refers to in the commentary as the "Peter Pan on a safari" jacket!I liked it, too.
I'm sure the Castle fashion site could be pursuaded to look for it!
Yes, we could. ; )

SO funny, loved it! Just what I needed after a hard day.
The serious episodes are great, but the comedy is one of the major reasons I love this show
EVERYONE did a great job, no idea how they were able to make it through the scenes without busting out laughing!
I just wanted to tell you how much I LOVE your icon/avatar!! Awesome work!

OfflineLOVED THIS EPISODE!!!!
My mom was even laughing! (She's seen a couple episodes before, but she is usually in bed when Castle is on.) Everyone has already said everything I loved about it. Maybe after a second viewing, I'll have more to say.
Also, Entertainment Weekly's Mandi Bierly did a recap of the episode. Maybe this will come a weekly thing now. Here's the link: http://popwatch.ew.com/2010/04…..ayan-king/. Enjoy! (I didn't see it posted yet, but if it is, sorry.)

OfflineActually my favorite line was when Castle asked that Mayan guy, "can we call you Mister T?"
My next favorite was Beckett's Scooby Doo imitation of "ruh roh".
Both of those lines had me laughing so hard I had to stop watching for a few minutes.

OfflineThank you to those who pointed out Castle's middle name. While I caught the "Last Will and Testament" on his desk, I didn't catch the name printed on it.
Must be time to get HDtv. That or a new eye prescription.
Loved the Scooby-Doo references. I didn't expect that. I thought the theme was going to be Indiana Jones…. And, well, I think everyone's already mentioned the highlights… I need to see it at least one more time to see if I can catch anything else…

OfflineI agree hdotmoss, I kept wondering if they would mention where Beckett was staying now too! I know this ep was meant to balance out the heaviness of the last 2 weeks, but it was a bit too campy for my liking. Funny lines, yes, but too fluffy for me. Beckett's "Ruh-Roh" seemed too cutely uncharacteristic? The ep overall was fun though (I was dying at the cappachino machine prank), and from the commentary, everyone had a blast making it.. I loved that they put so much consideration into what kind of underwear Castle should wear.

OfflineI really enjoyed this episode a lot, for all the reasons folks have already mentioned here. Also just wanted to say, nice directing work by Bill Roe on this episode–you could really see the influence of his cinematography background. Hope he gets a chance to direct more episodes in the future.

OfflineWow, what can i say!!!!
After the intensity of two previous episodes, this one is really lighthearted. The whole cast was bizaare and the writers did an excellent job with reference to Scooby-Doo and Indiana Jones.
I absolutely love Beckett, Esposito and Ryan playing jokes on Castle. One it was funny. Two, it shows that his part of their team. Three, did I mention it was just funny. Love to hear Stana's laugh in the show.
Funny that Beckett identifies herself with Velma. But of course Castle was all "No, you're Daphne". We all know that he has the hots for Beckett and those qualities he mentioned?, Kate has them in spades, what a way to compliment a girl huh?
Did anyone notice Castle and Beckett are wearing almost same jacket on top of almost same polo, Blue, with strips?

OfflineI just watched the episode again (on ABc's website with Seamus's commentary) and yes, all four of them looked mighty fine in their bulletproof vests in the dog scene. You're right Gastropod. Here are some other things I missed the first time:
- Castle breaks something when he throws away the fedora at the beginning
- Beckett’s look while Castle is sucking his cut finger. You can tell here that she's plotting something.
- The look on Ryan & Esposito’s faces after Castle’s chair fall apart. You can also tell here, that whatever Beckett is plaotting, they're in on it.
- Beckett’s jackets are awesome in this episode!
- Martha’s little “Hm-hmm” after telling Alexis & Castle about the Scottish play superstition. Susan is mad talented, like everyone else on the show.
- Ryan’s sound effects during his and Esposito’s “cute” scene
- How Beckett tries to keep from upsetting Castle further after Lanie tells her what the substance on the gargoyle was. So sweet of her!
- This line from Esposito: 'Yeah, well I’d rather suffer a thousand curses than go up against Beckett in a box."
- Beckett’s putting a toe on the elevator after Castle gets off and the ding sound effect to close the scene.
- Nathan’s “one man show” in the elevator (Seamus's words)
- The look exchanged between Beckett & Castle after his “girls gone wild in the jungle” comment during Navi Rawat's interrogation
The sound effects in the dog scene were a little over-the-top for me, but the whole scene in general was hilarious. And the whole explanation of why the murderer committed the crime was a bit of a stretch, even the second time around. Still, this was a great ep. Not one of my all-time faves, but well-done.
To answer everyone's complaint about the lack of an explanation of where Beckett is staying, I think the writer's try not to allude to too much that happned in previous episodes to avoid someone seeing an ep for the first time and feeling lost. I agree, I'd love to find out where she's staying now too, but the crew obviously wants each ep to stand on its own as much as possible.
Finally, Seamus said that 4 weeks prior to shooting this ep he broke his ankle. That's one reason he and Esposito didn't give chase to the killer in the end – Bill Roe didn't want to make him run.

Who wrote this episode? All of the characters were at their quip-tastic best. This is one of the best-written episodes of the whole series, imho.
I kept asking that in chat last night…Alexi Hawley…she was involved with Rose for Everafter (story), and she wrote Love Me Dead and Fool Me Once (which had awesome stuff with Castle wondering if Beckett was reading heat wave, the great dialogue with the Castle's CIA contact, and the brilliant bathroom scene at the end)…so I was looking forward to this one!
Alexi Hawley is a dude
Cheers for the info, y'all. Just watched this for the 2nd time and guffawed in all the same places and a few more.
