Rawat has been tapped for a guest-starring role on ABC's Castle,
TVGuide.com has learned exclusively.

Rawat will trade in her math textbooks
to play Rachel Walters, a mummification expert who crosses paths with
Beckett (Stana
Katic) and Castle (Nathan
Fillion) when the Natural History Museum's assistant curator, Will
Medina, is found murdered. Rachel informs the team that Will might have
been cursed because he disturbed ancient Mayan tombs to create the
museum's newest exhibit.

Rachel, who could be a suspect in the
murder, also catches Castle nosing through some coffins in the museum,
prompting Becket to tease Castle about the curse. Castle refuses to
believe her until he suffers his own near-death experience.

The
episode, entitled "Wrapped Up in Death," is slated to air April 5.

The
timing couldn't be better for Rawat, who has also had roles on 24 and The O.C. Her Numb3rs
character will take a trip down the aisle as the CBS procedural
wraps up its sixth (and possibly final) season Friday.

I tend to agree with Sarah if only because the next two episodes sound like they will be really intense so some comedy to lighten things up a bit seems likely.

Then again, if we think about the other casting news, it could also be enough to scare Kate in to the arms of someone else… We'll see.

Yeah, that would be kinda awesome. He would probably fake a near death experience if he knew it meant a possible lip lock from Beckett.

I was thinking, Castle can get a little dramatic in his reactions to everyday situations, so maybe something silly happens to him and he reads that as having a near death experience. Bounce Still, it would be awesome to put both Beckett AND Castle through life-threatening experiences and see how it impacts their relationship. And seeing him fake getting knocked unconscious to get Beckett to do mouth-to-mouth would be PRICELESS!

HAHAHA, That would be halirous, and such a Castle thing to do! I love it. I'm pretty sure she might literally shoot him if she ever found out, but I think he'd be willing to take that chance.
