Thanks for starting the thread. You pretty much touched on everything I loved about it. A lot of suprise lol moments for me.

Beckett and Castle mentioning the actual tag lines used for the show was greatness.

I don't know how Stana pulls out the faces she does but please keep them coming. The one where Castle takes the call from Ellie behind the white board was priceless. Really enjoyed when she was trying not to laugh when the network president said he was with Ellie.

The whole scene with the producer wanting to kill Bobby Mann again. She didn't care he was dead she wanted to see the corpse. And then taking off after her daughter. I had tears rolling down. I don't even know if it was supposed to be that funny but gawd I was cracking up.

The network president storming out of the Captain's office and laying into Castle and Beckett. So over the top but funny. And watching Beckett and Castle look at the Captain before he goes back into his office.

I loved Beckett asking him out for a burger and not gloating at being right about Ellie.

Beckett really plays the jealous part well. But Castle set the bait at the end by being vague on who his date was and she fell for it easily. Loved both reactions when he revealed it was Alexis.

dmcw, my only complaint about the episode is the same as yours. Ellie didn't bother me as much as I thought she would. I still don't like her for the part of Nikki so that will be interesting to see how that plays out. Will she return or just lose out when the time comes. Hell, I don't even care that Castle slept with her anymore. My problem is that he seemed to enjoy being used by her. Wrong, just wrong Castle. You have more issues to work out than I thought you did.

Ditto above. Castle actually enjoying the fact that he had been used by Ellie then asking Alexis about honestly missing him… kinda gross, lol . This ep did surprise me a lot with the lol moments too!  I thought the whole murder plot was pretty amusing–juiced spiked with balsamic vinegar, really?!  Can't wait to rewatch with Tom Bergeron's commentary tomorrow, maybe I'll notice something new to mention.

….I totally can't wait for the sparring with Demming next ep! The promo may have been edited to make it seem like Castle actually wants to watch them go at it? Can't wait.

'Have a nice life…sentence.' FTW line for the episode for me. haha =))

i can't believe Castle did it with Ellie more than once. really don't like that girl.

My favorite part of the episode had to be Beckett's reaction to his first "morning after".  When he says "Good morning, Detective" in that self-satisfied voice she immediately comes to the (incorrect) conclusion that he was faking the voice to get her goat.  But when she realizes he actually DID get laid, her entire demeanor changed.  Good thing for her the boys came in and distracted Castle before he realized she'd put her foot in her mouth with that "I'm a trained detective" line.

 

Second favorite part was the last scene with Beckett and Castle, when Beckett thinks Castle is going to see Elle again.  Her exasperation/disbelief was simply perfect.  From Beckett's perspective it was bad enough that he allowed himself to be seduced by Elle in the first place, but at least that was an honest mistake, and Beckett know's he's a sucker for a pretty face.  But for him to willingly go out with a person he KNOWS used him to further her own career?  That's stupid and unforgivable, and she really started to work herself into a lather over it.

 

Can't wait for the next episode.  As a fan of both Firefly and BSG, it makes me happy to see actors and actresses from both shows make guest appearances.  And while I'm on the subject, does Castle get filmed anywhere near "V"'s set?  I'd love to know if Nathan Fillion gets to see Morena Baccarin from time to time, and Alan Tudyk was a character for a couple episodes as well.

Yes, I agree tambourineman. In fact, I was actually kind of glad we finally got to see Castle living up to his reputation. I mean, don't get me wrong, I don't want him to be a man-slut or anything like that, but for everyone always portraying him as this millionaire playboy, we haven't really seen it until now. Cause let's face it, sleeping with your ex-wife doesn't exactly qualify as a player move. Like I said, don't jump all over me. I don't want him to sleep around all over the place but since they had that as part of his character description it was good that they showed it a little I think…oh and plus it's great to see Beckett jealous!

I was wondering the exact same thing Gastropod! Maybe she was grinning because she just remembered that tasty cookie she ate last night! Haha, jk.  But that's really the beauty of something open ended like that I suppose. Take your pick! Each reason could all just as likely be true and they leave it for us to interpret however we see fit. I say, all of the above.

I don't view it as her being rewarded. I believe she was the front runner before she slept with him. She just didn't know it, at least that was the impression I got.

As for Castle being "used" I think it's something he's used to by now. He likes to think that people like him for who he is (like Kate) and not what he can do for them. But if being "used" involves being bedded by a pretty starlet… well a man like Castle -who is not in a personal relationship- would be the last person to object.
