Another brilliant job for Stana on the facial expressions (two of my faves are below). Seriously, this woman never ceases to amaze me with her talent. In-Credible!
I know! There should be some award for the best facial expressions. She'd win hands down! They're always right on the money!

Of course I'd rather see Stana play Nikki Heat, but how's that going to turn out? Beckett playing herself in which case it would be just be watching an episode of Castle. LOL It would be interesting how that's going to turn out. Hopefully, next time they'll bring in an actor who'll play Jameson Rook.
Haha, maybe they could do it like they did in Ocean's Thirteen where Julia Roberts plays Tess Ocean plays Julia Roberts.
And could someone please post a transcript of the commentary by the writer? Can't get it here in my country. Thanks!!

OfflineThis was fairly light episode.
The jokes about a golfer behaving badly and the conflict that was definitely a jab at NBC's late night fracas were done well enough to be inoffensive, at least.
Beckett's facial expressions were priceless in this ep (well Stana's always been great, needless to say) mostly in relation to Castle's hooked-up with the starlet. I love the "boy, you should have known better" look Beckett gave Castle when she points out the only reason she went after him was so he'd recommend her to the movie role of Nikki Heat.
I also loved the Castle made Beckett admit to him she was jealous by mentioning that date. If he was deliberately trying to get a rise out of her,………..it worked. Well played Castle.
In all, an entertaining episode, not that great, but still good. Cheers!!!!!

OfflineIn the final scene I thought Castle just said whatever would get Ellie out of there before Alexis returned. Notice how he ignores the question "wasn't that….. ?" from Alexis when she comes in.
Castle could have done the 'right' thing and chewed Ellie out how manipulative she was and how he never wanted to see her again or slam the door in her face but that would have meant Alexis returning into a nasty argument between her father and a woman. Probably something he had seen plenty of in his youth and was not eager to happen here.

wow. It's just not right for someone to look that good when they've just gotten done working out. I mean seriously! I swear I'm totally straight but oh my gosh, Stana is so good looking it's just cruel. You can go ahead and add one more question to your, "The Universe's Unaswerable Questions" list: How can one person be so, shut-my-mouth-slap-your-grandma-drop-dead-sexy-gorgeous and then five minutes later, turn it off and totally pwn the, holy-cow-she's-just-so-cute-I-can't-even-handle-it, adorable factor? Let's just chalk it up to Mother Nature's twisted sense of humor shall we? How can any woman not have a girl crush on Stana? And yes everone, her facial expressions are *Morgenstern voice* Uh-mazing!
I know. I was watching and oh my! Its not fair to be that gorgeous, right? The more you stare at her, the more she looks amazing.

I am sooo annoyed at people right now!!!
GRRRR What is it with this episode that brought out the worst in Castle fans?
One guy called Castle a "dirtbag" and said that Beckett should throw him out!
Another person thinks that Casle is now too shallow to get involved with Beckett!
Another person said that "Castle has been set back a year" in his reforming!
You've GOT TO BE KIDDING ME PEOPLE!!! I didn't like the ending of the episode but no way is Castle a "dirtbag" or somehow evil incarnate because he slept with someone else! No way is he now no longer reformable because of this! It is ridiculous and this overreacting is really really REALLY starting to push my buttons!
Gotta agree.
Larger point first: there are people who think that casual sex or being polyamorous is right, and for them, maybe it is. So in the larger sense, we shouldn't pass judgement on that.
Show-specific point: We shouldn't call Castle a dirtbag just because he's acting in exactly the shallow way we've been told he does. I think this episode largely lives to tell us that Castle has a great deal to change before an intimate relationship with Beckett is viable. The "use me any time" line (even if it's face-saving) points that way. Look, suppose Castle and Beckett had a sexual relationship: there's every reason to believe that he might treat it as a fling (especially if there were a misunderstanding afterward) and she wouldn't. Then he is done for her as a potential romantic partner: she's made that clear ("I'm more of a one and done girl").
I have faith that the writers aren't going to do the "oh they slept together and have different takes on it" thing–with what we've been told and the way the characters are right now, the relationship would not work. Sorry, 'shippers, but I think that's true. Eventually? Sure. But both of them have to change. Oh, not the core of who they are–they'll still be the Beckett and Castle we love–but reactions and approaches and willingness to forgive mistakes. Those have to change. There are certain mistakes I don't see Beckett as willing to forgive, and Castle is just the type to make those mistakes. There are fears that I think Castle has, and he has to learn that Beckett is not going to be like that.
So I'm actually pretty excited that the next episode(s) will feature Beckett with a love interest who isn't Castle. It's a chance to explore parts of Beckett and of Castle that we haven't been able to see before. They do have to keep some kind of tension between Castle and Beckett, but I have faith that they can.

No need, really, they were two consenting adults and both got what they wanted.

Well stated. I am a little relieved that he is being superificial with other women. I would be more concerned if he was showing any genuine affection. We know that Castle is capable of liove as seen in A Rose for Everafter. Suppose Kyra or a Kyra-like character were to return to Castle then I would be sick because then I would know that there was real competition for Beckett. So I say we let Castle be a jerk as long as he is not a jerk to Beckett.

I agree! I'd have been much more worried about how this particular plotline would play out if it was a more "real" woman Castle was letting seduce him.

I was watching this episode with my 8 year old daughter when Castle and Ellie were "comforting" each other. My daughter comments, that is supposed to be Kate. Out of the mouths of babes. Even she knows who he belongs with.
That is priceless!

Just as I think she can't get any better or be more pitch-perfect as Beckett, she does! She never ceases to amaze me with her talent. And yes, she is be-autiful!
And to top it all off, she's intelligent, humble, and well-spoken. What's not to love? Like someone else said on another forum, she could sit on a stage and read the phone book and we'd all be in total awe. Maybe we should start a sub-group of Castle Addicts for all of us with girl-crushes on Stana. Oh wait a minute. There's already such a group – the Stanatics!

OfflineI haven't taken the time to read through the previous 3 pages of posts, so I apologize if I'm a little redundant. I know that Castle and Beckett have gotten closer over the course of the seasons, but I never really noticed how much (aside from her staying with him during Boom!) until I watched what happened around 20 minutes in. Right before the network president comes in, Castle and Beckett are talking and he offers her a bite of his sandwich. She doesn't hesitate whatsoever before she reaches over to take it from him. Might be a small thing, but I picked up on it, and I know that I don't take anyone else's half eaten food unless I'm really comfortable around them lol
