Castle getting involved with an actress or model,someone Beckett wouldn't see as real shows me he's only getting his sugar fix before the entree is served. Not that he prefers actresses and models but that he can date these women w/o making a commitment if he wants to and no one gets hurt. Bachelorette #3,comes to mind. It's more availability than preference in my mind.

Well, that just reaffirms Beckett's belief on what Castle wants in a relationship and in women (sex and nothing more). Even if we met Kyra Blaine, all the women he has been involved with after her have been women involved in showbusiness.

     Sounding just a little bit bitter baby girl. Castle was raised around show business women. Martha has always been an actress.He like most men wants someone like dear ole mom.Could be just that simple or he could be afraid of a real woman that he couldn't walk away from without being deeply hurt.His being raised around women and showbusiness women at that is likely to have molded him into what he is today. I trust Beckett will eventually bring him around to the straight and narrow. I truely believe he loves Beckett beyond reason but is really afraid of her at this point.

She has said she is a one and done type of girl.Castle believes it and possibly dosen't think he's good enough for her at this point.

Ok, there are a lot of quote and replies I want to be doing here, but since that might get too complicated, I'll just post my thoughts.

 

Here we are worrying about all this, and I'm betting (or hoping) it will all turn out fine in the end.  Don't want to sound naive (I've seen how TV show writers can take a show in the wrong direction, IMHO), but I trust the Castle writers here. I really do.  Like dmcw said, it will probably make more sense once we've seen how the episodes and storylines evolve.  Even if these relationships are just plot devices to extend the arc of CB, I have a feeling that the writers will execute them well, respecting CB.  Remember, they love the pairing as much as we do, and know when these kinds of ploys can get annoying. I think Moby Dick said it best: "I truly believe he loves Beckett beyond reason but is really afraid of her at this point."

 

I'm just going to enjoy the rest of season two and look forward to season three.  Really excited that Heat Wave is now being made into a movie.

A plot for a new episode of CASTLE will involve the Conan O’Brien and

Jay Leno debacle. The episode will be titled “The Late Shaft”. Ausiello

was first to get the exclusive scoop. Turns out that Fred Willard will

also guest star.

Dancing with the Stars emcee Tom Bergeron has signed on to guest

as Bobby Mann, a late-night talk show host who gets permanently shut up

by… Well, the prime suspect is his would-be successor, a rival

chatterbox (played by Bill Bellamy) who’s long coveted the victim’s

timeslot: Ex-Nip/Tuck star Kelly Carlson has been cast in the episode

as a love interest for Nathan Fillion’s titular sleuth.

Carlson’s character, an actress by the name of Ellie Rose, meets Castle

on the set of a late-night talk show hosted by the Leno-esque Bobby

Mann (guest star Tom Bergeron). The two hit it off (and then some),

prompting a jealous Beckett to suspect that the starlet is only

interested in Castle because she covets a role in the forthcoming movie

version of his book, Heat Wave.

 

 I read this to mean a movie within the series of Castle as a plot. I see Castle's agent/ publisher coming to him saying they want you to write a screenplay for the HeatWave book and we want to make it into a movie or someone wants to buy the rights to the book.

 Castle is excited and moves forward with the movie idea and then we get Tick ,Tick, Tick and Boom and maybe the movie idea is shelved or strached after what happens to Beckett's apt.

I have never seen the series or heard of the actress coming on to play the part of Castle's new hottie. I am not thrilled he will hurt Beckett as it implies he does more then just hit it off, even when Beckett finds her own love interest I am for the couple of Castle-Beckett. I am ok with a few episodes but long term teaar them apart, bring them together and tear them apart  has also been done many times in SOAP OPERAS. I have no interest in watching them with other people for long term season(s). This has been done so many times I'd like to see Castle writers break the mold and give us a couple who can be fun, exciting, loving and happy most of the time together and break the line / string of series where they dream the  couple were together, one of them has a brian tumor and dreams they are together, the one gets hit by a car and forgets they are a couple and never gets their feelings back and goes off with somone else, they both cheat on each other and can never forgive so they go their own ways, cloned by mad scientists and marry the wrong clone, wake up in a shower and dreamed the entire relationship, slept with two men on the same night, dumps both, get pregnant then marries a stranger on a train, loses the baby, leaves town. All these wacko things have been done on other series. Who made the rules in TV land that it has to/ can only happen at the end of a series run or last episode of a series?

Make me wonder if there is TV By Laws , TV Bill of Rights, A TV No No list of do's and dont's for leads in series to not get together?

Would be nice for a change to have a show that can have it all and be a hit and run for many seasons.

Pam, your list of all the best ways to keep a couple apart cracked me up.  Let's hope that doesn't happen with Castle.

I don't really get the idea that people are "worried", just kind of bored. Of course, it will be okay in the end. I mean, we all know that love interests generally don't last. Of course the two characters will ultimately find their way back to one another eventually. I think some of us just get kind of bored with things that we feel as though we've seen in so many other shows multiple times before.

And I think I'm missing something: I am under the impression that the Heat Wave movie is solely for use in the show… not that an actual movie is going made? I will also state right up front that I rarely read through everything so I could well have missed it, but I wouldn't get too excited about an actual Heat Wave movie, at least as I understand it…

Yeah, I can see this happening for the opening of the next season.  Much like the cosmo shoot in episode 1 of season 2, I can see a movie premier as the episode 1 of season 3 with us getting a glimpse at the actors/actresses who play the parts of Heat and Rook.  That could be hysterically funny, especially if the actor/actress who plays Heat and Rook either "get along famously well" or hate each other's guts.  The dialogue between Beckett and Castle related to who is playing them and how well the characters do (or do not) get along could be pretty funny.   

Or they could make a just-for-the-fun-of-it movie trailer to include with the season 2 DVDs

Yeah that's how I read it–that the movie would just be a plot point– I guess I just wasn't very clear in my post.  I'm still excited about that, though.  I do think it would be fun if they made a trailer for it.

 I'm really beginning to lean towards the "nothing really happens" with Castle and Ellie. It just appears to be so and that's all it takes to push Kate running right into another man's arms. Then he can sweat it out for a few episodes while she's out testing the waters.  I think they need to introduce competition on both sides to kick them both into gear.  It could turn out to be completely different, though I kind of like this scenario. We'll just have to wait and see!
