He would totally do that. Like in The Third Man, when the newspaper editor told him that he spent more time talking about Beckett than himself like he did in the past.

Ok, sorry. I completely hate this route, though. Reminiscent of Moonlighting when David dated Maddie's cousin. I am really, really trying to have faith here, and I know this is all supposed to be working toward a closer Castle and Beckett…but it just makes me cringe. Even if she didn't keep in touch with this friend, it still feels…I don't know…just icky. And Beckett's friend is feeding Castle to boot…double icky.

I just posted this on another forum, but i'll post it here too. sorry for the repetition.
this having each other date other people while it's freakin' painfully obvious that their feelings have deepened for each other is starting to get to me too. i'm so glad that they both have a realization at the end of the season because this whole projecting my feelings for the other onto someone else is getting silly.

In the larger versions you can see Beckett
carrying her folder so her visit is work related. She does look jealous in one of those pictures. I wonder if she knew that Castle would be there too?
And I have no idea why that picture of her and her friend in front of the elevator cracks me up. The one where her friend is holding a gift basket?

Not sure about those pics
Castle seems to know the Chef, perhaps he is trying to get information on the case by being there with her and Castle being Castle has to make a show of it or goes to far, and Kate would arrive at that moment. I hope he's not going to disappoint me again. Then again it might make Kate question herself if she still "sees green" when she has Detectvie Tom.

I'm all for Kate questioning her jealousy even when she has Tom, if it help her clarify her feeling for Castle.
The epi blurb says that Castle and Beckett's friend "share an attraction" if I'm quoting correctly. To me, that sounds more like flirting and maybe a casual date, probably nothing to worry about. The epi blurb also says " complications ensue", maybe this woman is a serious suspect for the murder.

Leftfield, I see your point. Didn't initially, but I do now. Maybe we'll have a plot similar to the one in the escort episode where Castle makes a connection to one of the suspects.

what i was saying in another post was that i think that castle isn't really dating her,but trying to ingnore the jealousy he has for beckett….i find in some cases is that if people are jealous over someone else, they might date someone to try to ignore it…and i believe that's why castle is dating all these women…not to shove it in Beckett's face, but to try and forget about her in a sense..we all know he wants to be with her, but as long as Tom Terrific is in the pic, he feels he has no chance…as i read somewhere, "i think castle is trying to date someone else so he can fall for the other woman and forget about Beckett…obviously that doesn't work."…and from the pics, it looks like a casual date…between him and VM star

I said somewhere else also that both of them might be projecting their feelings for each other onto these other folks – like Beckett flirts with Tom as she would like to flirt with Castle, and Castle does the same with Ellie and this gal. I'm no psychologist, but it's just a thought I had.
And by the end of the season, they realize that whatever feelings they have had or may have had for Tom, or Ellie, or Beckett's old friend, respectively, they actually feel for each other and have to decide what to do about it.

i feel it's just a photo taken at an awkward moment..Beckett lloks like she's gasping, but it looks more like a "i've found her" look, i'm not too sure and i'm not an expert, but at least that's what it looks like 2 me
