This one was REALLY interesting from a Castle/Beckett dynamic point of view. Even though everything about the case and even the story with Alexis seemed to have a double meaning with regard to Castle and Beckett's relationship (which surprised me because it was more heavy-handed than normal), I found it extremely satisfying that Castle and Beckett basically talked about the issue between them without actually talking about it:
Castle: You ask me, she should have followed her heart.
Beckett: You know I can see the virtue in staying…of course, he makes you feel alive, but eventually you know he's just going to let you down. So why risk it?
Castle: Because the heart wants what the heart wants.
AWESOME. And sad.
I really enjoyed all the stuff we learned about Beckett and how it was thrown in here and there: friend called her Becks, friend also said Shut the Front Door (although I didn't especially like hearing that great line from her), Beckett having dated lots of different types of guys, never had a proposal.
More good coffee stuff…Castle going in super early to bring coffee before Demming and still being too late (and Beckett calling on him for having bought the espresso machine…and Castle saying it's just for homicide), Ryan mentioning Demming and the coffee in front of Castle and Esposito shaking his head and mouthing No…that was priceless!
Esposito's other funny line was during the Beckett/Demming take-out date "Wow nice Candle"..just cute how he said it.
And hilarious exchange among the guys about falling in love with people on the subway, telephone operators, and falafel girls.
I'm more torn about Demming than last week. He's clearly a decent guy who likes Kate, and she seems to also enjoy him…and even though she clearly has feelings for Castle, in her mind he is not a possibility for her. I can't really blame her for seeing where things go with Demming. Great parallel with Alexis and her head/heart decision.
Martha was great in this one, too. I loved her warning Rick about seeing Beckett's friend being a mistake. And her take on a great proposal with a guy down on one knee, tears in his eyes, ring in his hand.
And I liked Beckett's different looks…the eyeshadow, her hair up, the red jacket.
Can't wait to see where things go from here.

Can anyone tell me what Castle said when he described how he proposed to Gina? Something about it being cold and in February? Totally garbled for me, I repeated it twice and was still not able to make it out. Thanks!
Awesome episode, as always.
We got a lot of information about how the final is going to shake out (I think). A much clearer picture of what's going on in Beckett's head, which I was not really sure of before.
More time tomorrow to comment, it's past my bedtime!

Love this episode =) i love learning more stuff about Beckett, her loving Oatmeal cookies, her watching 'Saved By the Bell' reruns. and we even learn Chinese is her fave, thanks to Demming. i can totally feel the connection between them, but obviously what he has with Castle is much deeper, but as everyone knew, to make it short, she's just scared of getting hurt. It was heartbreaking seeing Beckett obviously holding back on Castle, when she was talking with Madison about the whole thing with this Brent guy from highschool, what he truly feels about Castle just shows so clearly.

A preview of the emotional stuff that's gonna happen on Ep 24. Also with the suspect's girlfriends saying 'You have no idea how hard it is to love someone knowing their gonna break your heart', as Beckett looks away. I can totally see a more deep, harder conversation on Ep 24 dealing with the same page.

Haha Loved that one =) and also Castle evil laugh after telling his plan of him and Alexis taking over the world. FTW
Castle: This is literally and figuratively COOL. // another great line.
and Madison saying 'Shut the front door!' FTW. just like Becks =))
and also Castle 'I heard everything' with the best satisfied teasing looks. LOL.
GREAT EP over all. must rewatch soon =)

Great episode! I loved how Beckett's friend was like "like on tv?" and Castle tapped on the glass. I like how he had the biggest look of satisfaction on his face when he was sitting in the chair next to Beckett's desk, after the whole "you're hot for Castle!" part. Beckett's face was classic when he said, "I heard everything…" haha.
I loved when Castle said, "The heart wants what the heart wants." I was like right in front of you!! lol I loved how they were discussing the reasons why the girl chose to stay with her boyfriend, but yet was in love and like Beckett said "he makes you feel alive" relating to Castle 
. It was a great way to have them relate to the situation that their in.
Next week looks so funny and the promo when Castle is impersonating Demming, "Would you like to join me?" haha!

Enjoyed much that dmcw noted.
I like the way that Beckett laid out a reason for resistance but I do wish Castle had something other than Woody Allen's line about "what the heart wants".
Hearing that quote pulled me out of the story and all I could picture was an old man hitting on his step-daughter…
just kind of jarring, especially since I don't buy that kind of rationale at all either.
Looking forward to the next 2 episodes.

Poor Castle, thinking he can beat Demming to the Coffee, only he's there before him. "Can you not see the little orange cones around the body?" Obviously not. Poor, Castle, ranting off again and everyones looking at him to shut up already. I found it funny that Madison also says "Shut the front door!". Beckett was a Scofflaw? HAHA!
"It's just I have…something." Poor, Castle, only to lead him to suggest a date with Madison. Loved the talk about how it's a reality 'show'. Oh, Martha, how I love you and Castle's whole 'Dr. Horrible' like scenes. "Hey, I froze time." LMFAO! *Sigh* Beckett and you're letting Madison go on a date with Castle when you obviously have feelings for him…
Demming bringing Chinese food for him and Beckett with a candle, how dare Demming make me like him a little more now. "And now you're benching me?" Hehe. The whole interigation room conversation and Castle hearing every word of it only to have Beckett end up ignoring (Which I would have done too), Darn! Hello, 'Could-be-the-sexy-pool-promo' scene! And the lovely 'Ring-tease-from-the-promo-bit' a little disapointing but I can see them poping up in fan videos now.
God, I love Martha. Propose in February, in a balloon? Wow, Castle. The big back-and-forth conversation with the boys and then Beckett & Madison, wowserz! Ryan and the sudden awkward silence he starts. I love how Castle gives Ryan 'the look' and then Espositio steps in mouthing "No". Man, the whole "The heart wants what the heart wants" *Cough* Hello, you two!
Nice Alexis storyline and Castle saying "Dude." at the end of it all. I hope Madison comes back.
