I noticed one other interesting thing, Cecily says  "if I couldn't trust him as a man, how could he be a father?"  Beckett knows that Castle is an excellent father and he proves it again when he goes off to be with Alexis and support her.  I'm sure that just adds to poor Becketts dilema about Castle.

It's funny, i totally missed that line when I first watched the ep and only just picked up on it tonight while watching the ep again with commentary.  You're right, it's a very interesting line.  It comes right after Beckett is talking about choosing a seemingly more safe & stable relationship over one that makes you feel alive, and then Castle goes and basically makes another arguement for himself that he can be the safe & stable type too when he cares about someone, it takes a good man at heart to be a good father.  Definitely a reason to give her that pause after he leaves.  I hope it put one more mark in the "pro" column for Castle.

I really liked this ep because it showed that there is more serious consideration going on right now about whether they could be something, you can see the tide starting to shift a bit, even though Beckett is still reluctant.  I'm hoping, perhaps only wishful thinking, that Beckett is still seeing Demming just to see if there is a spark with another guy like there is with Castle, and maybe she'll try too hard to fall for Demming and then finally realize that her heart wants Castle.   If we only get the realization and admission by the end of the finale, I'd be happy just knowing that.  Love  .  But yes, in reality, I know they'll probably leave us hanging, sigh……

- Stana's laugh at the beginning while she's talking to Demming. SO cute! Love2

- I thought the whole candle scene with Kate and Tom was super cute. The whole time while watching it I was smiling like an idiot. Demming makes her happy. And since Castle hasn't given her any reason that he wants to persue a serious relationship with her, I think the girl deserves some happiness, don't you?

I'm kind of with you here…..

I love the relationship between Beckett and Castle. Both Nathan and Stana are really pulling out their best stuff here – they have amazing chemistry.

Again, there's no one on the other end of that phone. Stana is so awesome

Jordan: He cares about you, Kate. You may not see it. You may not be ready to. But he does. ♥ ♥ ♥ Kate: Of course he makes you feel alive but eventually you know he's just going to let you down. So, why risk it? Castle: Because the heart wants what the heart wants.

I love Perlmutter. He's so wacky – he adds a little spice to our food episode.

Yeah, Lanie's grumpy replacements needs some appreciation ! He's such a great counter to everyone making fun over everything. Although after his performance in Burn Notice I keep waiting for him to get out a garotte and try to strangle someone.

As promised, Molly's commentary. This time it comes from kanackering (at LJ). Enjoy smile

STFD, thanks for this commentary and my being able to avoid ABC website issues to get it.

This is one of my favorite commentaries…it's cool to get the perspective of a younger actress…there is a lot of admiration for her co-workers in here that is neat to see.

I love that she metions they made her pay $5 for a ringing phone…but she thought they'd let her get away with it!

If the accent she mentions is when Esposito says "Ecuador", I thought that was totally hot too.

LOL at the safety meeting on liquid nitrogen (makes sense, I just never thought about it) and Molly asking Nathan to lick the bowl

Surprised she said the adults in her life have no advice to give.  Even though Castle is immature, I think he does a great job of stepping up when it is warranted.  I would have made her figure out this issue herself like he originally does.

I never thought about the contrast between Beckett and Madison being really telling.  Someone mentioned earlier on this thread that Madison seemed ditzy and was a surprising friend for Beckett.  But as Molly mentions, Beckett must have taken a more serious path in behavior and attitude when her mom was killed…or she just grew up more (and has a more serious job) than Madison…and who knows what Beckett is like outside of work.

Glad she appreciates Seamus' expression too!

I loved the scene when Alexis puts her hand to Castle's face…SO funny.  What a clever ad lib.

So, I've kind of been pondering everything we've learned about Beckett this last episode and just her wholde character development throughout the show and I'm really torn. I know they're trying to expand her character and let her hair down a little, (figuratively and literally,) and I do like seeing something new once in a while, but I'm really starting to miss the old Beckett a little. My brother and I were talking about this yesterday and to me it kind of feels like Stana is slowly seeping more and more into the character. At least, as far as her look goes, which I guess is understandable since she does have a life outside of the show, but when it comes to everything else, I don't know. I miss the days when Beckett was eternally irritated at Caslte's antics, was easily provoked by his joking, violent at times, and intermittently made snarky remarks back at him. Now most of the time, she either just ignores him or kind of chuckles under her breath. I'm not saying it doesn't make sense what they're doing with the character, cause it totally does, all I'm sayin' is that after every new episode, I'm realizing more and more how much I miss snapy, grumpy Beckett. *sigh* Undecided I guess I'll just have to go back and watch season one…again. Is anybody else as torn about this as I am?

I like "grumpy Beckett" too.  I bet we haven't see the the last of her, Castle can still still irritate, tease, and joke with the best of them.

Well yeah, that's true. I'm sure we'll see some days when she's pissed off at him and having none of it. But I guess I kind of feel like her whole persona is changing and that makes me just the teensiest bit sad.

i miss old Beckett to, but then again we still get annoyed beckett at times. Though now she acts like that to Castle is a good thing for me, because it means now she see Castle less as a 9 year old on a sugar rush, more of this really interesting different guy that makes work more fun for her smile

I always assumed that Beckett had to grow up when her Mom died and her Dad became an alcoholic.  She did say in A Chill Runs Through Her Veins that she saved her Dad's life.  That'll make any teenager grow up fast.  So will pursuing a career in law enforcement.

I agree totally!  And I know some local school board members I could talk to about such a thing…Tongue

And Castlelover45 don't worry.  I'm sure we'll see puh-lenty of angry Beckett when she finds out about Naked Heat!
