What I don't get…
She's so worried things will be awkward and doesn't want anyone to be uncomfortable….doesn't that imply she KNOWS that Castle has feelings for her? She's trying to hide a relationship from him so as not to hurt him. We saw this regarding the cab ride in Overkill. If she's already knows, then what on earth is the point to all this? SHE already knows that she has feelings for him – (Food to Die For?).
My head hurts.

wow I am a very sad panda right now.
Totally called he would leave with this Demming fiasco… but man, it's still sad. And the way Nathan played that entire scene is just heartbreaking to me.

Kind of odd that she didn't just say she was with Demming rather than basically lie to him about why she couldn't go with him for the weekend. (I'm assuming him asking her to the hamptons is what she was talking about.) I would of thought she would just tell the truth about it.
I do take a bit of comfort in that she seemed pretty worried when he said he wanted to take a break (the face she makes and the way she repeats 'A Break'. And with the other spoiler with Esposito I think I'm not nearly as worried as I thought I was going to be. Though good God the summer is going to be long and… Beckett and Demming are/could be together all summer… gah *feels ill* Anyway, so far haven't seen anything that is going to drive me crazy just yet, but it's always the little things that do it lol.
Any chance of sharing Thumper?

I am so past being a sad panda and onto being completely angry!
Lying never solves any problems Beckett…
And just to point out, it's kinda "lady of the night" to be going away with a man within a month of starting to date. Since Castle runs on a timeline very close to the real world's timeline that puts their "first date" (chinese food and the candle [blah!]) just a little over a week ago… Wow. Apparently Beckett moves fast when it's not with Castle.

Cracking up over "lady of the night" LOL I suddenly had an image of her in full on 80s garb. with big permed hair, those high heeled boots, and that awful denim leather jacket.
I'm sorry but I really can't see a justification for what Sarah just pointed out. Who is the real Kate Beckett? So far this character arc is really confusing me.

This Demming arc has screwed Beckett, literally and figuratively (at least according to her actions).
Just to clarify, I have no problem with Beckett getting some, I'm a big advocate of everyone getting some. But when it makes you start lying to your friends and changing who you are, that's when I start having a problem.

agreed here too.
After rewatching past episodes last night, i really really don't like the 'Demming' character that much anymore.
Maybe the whole thing with Castle&Demming is really getting into Beckett that she couldn't think as straight as before.
