Great News – Ratings appear to be up this week, though again the figures may drop a little due to the usual overrun of DWTS. These steady ratings are fantastic news for the show.

It's nice to see that it improves every week. We almost hit 10 million viewers. That's nothing to sneeze at.

It does look like it gained in numbers this week. It doesn't appear the football game inflated the numbers at all and we know some adjustments will be made once they shave off the DWTS overrun.
But I've had my heart torn out thinking we've done better only to see it fall once the numbers were adjusted. It drives me crazy.

The figures quoted in the "previous weeks" section of the table below are all BEFORE the overrun was calculated (and there's been one every week) so even with the over run, I think it's an improvement this week.

Of all the weeks so far I am hopeful that we saw a gain this time. I don't recall DWTS having a huge impact on Castle like he seems to think it will this week.
But it looks like tvbythenumbers is going to have a story up later why ABC won't be able to keep Castle. Here's the post from one of the site owners.
Dan, I think Bill has a post coming that will strike (some more) fear into the hearts of Castle fans. Personally I see Castle as “on the bubble or worse” when it comes to a full season pickup. Many seem to go with the notion that ABC can’t NOT pick-up ALL THREE of Castle, Eastwick and The Forgotten, and they might be right, but I’m not yet sold that “ABC can’t”

That's why I don't visit that site for the editorials anymore. What purpose does it serve? Speculation is useless. It's cheap, free and any idiot can do it.

That site annoys me so much I refuse to go there anymore. Instead, I go to the Futon Critic. At least that way I don't get obnoxious commentary. Although, I do think it's good we keep pushing to show ABC how much we like Castle and hopefully positive word of mouth will help its viewers grow.

I agree.
It's neat seeing Castle on the Hulu main page as one of the most popular episodes today.

Final numbers are up. Of course tvbythenumbers headlines that Castle ticked down but in fact it's up for the first time this season.
I don't know the final number for total viewers but Castle ended up with a 2.3 key demo rating. That's up from the 2.2 it's been posting. Good news for sure.

Lol. I perfer that one as well.
This week's episode generated a lot of talk though. I'm hopeful that because of that, next weeks numbers will look a lot better.

Sorry, I'll try to scale my tvbythenumbers talk back here but I like the fact they don't sugarcoat things. Even if they are doom and gloom and tend to be on the negative side.
Castle ended up with 9.768 total viewers. Another season high.
We have reason to be happy for sure.

Jamz, nothing to be sorry about. Please continue to post what you want. I'm not asking for sugarcoating, but if something goes up, you don't pretend otherwise to get a rise out of people. That's not good journalism period.
Like a show, don't like a show that's fine but report the FACTS don't make up inaccurate headlines to attract attention. Just saying…
