The numbers are holding steady from last week.  The usual DWTS overrun will likely cause the numbers to drop back slightly as they have every other week but steadiy numbers are great.  It's interesting to note that both CSI: Miami & Jay Leno dropped down this week while Castle remained the same.

The numbers will hold steady for sure. It's interesting because the key demo will likely drop to a 2.3 which is still up from the first few episodes. It's possible it ends up with a 2.2 but I don't think the DWTS overrun has ever had that much affect. What's interesting is that it looks like the total viewers will be down. Not a big drop or big deal at all but that's a first when you consider the key demo isn't going to have a big drop off. Most likely due to Fox's baseball running over and messing with the whole schedule. When the numbers are adjusted Castle should beat out Lie To Me though it's not up against that show when normally scheduled.

Castle just kicks Leno to the curb. It's not even close.

Thanks Castle for the post and comment since I am such a number watching person. The numbers are fair but I'm dissappointed that the overall viewers dropped, I was so hoping that we hit 10 million. doh:

Well back to telling everyone to watch the show or at least DVR the show to help out the ratings.

Hooray for Season 3!

I'm not worried about the total viewers dropping some. It's likely from baseball playoffs running over which led to House and Lie to Me airing much later than scheduled.

Tvbythenumbers posted ABC's latest press release for Monday night's shows. You have to realize that the nature of these releases are to tout their shows but how can you not be excited about what they said about Castle.

“Castle” (10:00-11:00 p.m.)

Hitting season highs in viewers and young adults for the 2nd consecutive week, ABC’s “Castle” outperformed NBC’s “Jay Leno” in the 10 o’clock hour by its largest margins yet in both Total Viewers (+5.2 million viewers – 9.9 million vs. 4.7 million) and Adults 18-49 (+71% – 2.4/6 vs. 1.4/4).

  • One of TV’s biggest gainers in the 10 o’clock hour this season, ABC’s “Castle” is generating substantial increases over its first-reported numbers through DVR playback, picking up an average 1.6 million viewers and an additional 6-tenths of an Adult 18-49 rating point (+26%) from the initially reported Live + Same Day Numbers to the Live + 7 Day DVR finals.
  • On average, “Castle” is improving the time period year to year for ABC, growing its hour over the same nights last year in both Total Viewers (+1.0 million – 9.5 million vs. 8.5 million) and Adults 18-49 (+5% – 2.3/6 vs. 2.2/5).

Hey guys I am new here. Just discover Castle a week ago.

I got the final rating courtesy of Travis Yannan (link is http://pifeedback.com/eve/foru…..03942/p/4)

Castle has a 2.4/6 in key demo (age 18-49) and 9.688 Million total viewers, that is up .1 million from last week!

I guess if ABC is happy and excited on what is happening, then that is all we need to know. The addition of merchandise to the ABC store also tells me that they were in a 'wait and see' mode for the first few weeks. Now that we bombarded them with love of the show by watching and buying the book, they added merchandise to the online website. The sales of the book is just icing on the cake for ABC.

After looking at the facts and the comment that "Castle" is improving the time period year to year for ABC, indicates to me that they will soon renew Castle! (Hooray)

Hooray for Season 3!

They should also add posters and HIGH RESOLUTION photos. I want at least one to pin it on the board above my desk at the office…

After the usual DWTS adjustments Castle held up super well keeping a 2.4 18-49 Demo – news just keeps getting better and better this week.

Castle (58 minutes)
– 9.688 million viewers
– 6.5/11 HH
– 2.4/6 A18-49

this is going to suck when dancing with the stars ends in november but all we got to do is call and tell people and the ratings will go back up and stay up

I don't watch DWTS, but I watch Castle, so I'm curious to know how Castle would do without the DWTS lead-in.

Me too. Just because the audience seem to be so different between the shows, I think Castle would be just fine… maybe even better depending on what kind of show will take DWTS's timeslot.

Castle didn't do well when Surviving Suburbia was its lead in. But I thought that was a poor choice for a lead in and thankfully ABC recognized that too.

I think The Bachelor will be the new lead in once DWTS finishes. It gets high ratings too so hopefully Castle won't slip and possibly even gain some from it.

I think a good part of the problem with that Jamz was that people didn't realise Castle was still on. People tuned in after DWTS to find a different show on and thought Castle had been cancelled or something I guess… at least that's what I've always assumed was a contributing factor. The Castle numbers have increased throughout the season and other shows, including DWTS I believe, have lost viewers.
