Re-used shot from episode 1x07?

Hello, everyone,

I'm just rewatching some episodes and it occured to me that in the Fundraiser episode 1x07 they had a shot from above showing the red carpet (somewhere around 28 min into the ep just before Beckett and Castle make their appearance with her wearing that red dress) and they use the exact same shot again in this episode as the red carpet for Castle's book release party (some 23 minutes into the episode). I'm just wondering – were there budget cuts? I know for a fact that something likes this happened in "Legend of the Seeker", which is syndicated, yet has 1.5mil per episode – Castle should have more, shouldn't it? I'm seriously not trolling or anything, I'm just wondering if anyone's got some insight.

Using shots as filler is a very common thing. I can't vouch on what you're saying because I am not currently in a position to pull out my DVDs and watch my DVR, but if they did do this, it was because of budget cuts. Most likely, during editing, they realized they needed more red carpet footage and instead on re-filming everything, they pulled stock footage.

Agree,stock footage and same angle.No problem.Why waste money? They rarely use stock footage though. Front of precinct showing flag as you drive up is another.

If you want to talk about reusing shots, how about that sunrise & the Empire State Building?  How many episodes has it been in now?  6? 7?   It is, however, a gorgeous shot.

Its really just a filler, I don't mind them reusing shots for filler parts…and you watch 'Legend of the Seeker'? I LOVE that show!
