I'm just gonna post the ones I found, I guess.  You can tell me if I'm crazy or not, how about that?

1.  The music in the costume scene is a definite homage to the unique sound of the music from Firefly.

2.  Ryan calls the party a 'Shindig' which was the name of Firefly Ep #4.

3.  Castle mentions Zac Efron who played young Simon Tam in Firefly Ep #5 'Safe.'

4.  The victim called himself Crow- which everyone seems to associate with The Crow- but that was the name of Niska's goon in Firefly Ep #2 'The Train Job'… you know, the guy with the big curved blade who Mal put through the engine?

This one might be a loose connection, but I can't help putting it together in my mind.

5.  While wearing the Mal costume, Castle goes to the freezer and gets a pint of ice cream.  This one requires more set-up.  Nathan has told the story several times that when he got the news that Firefly was cancelled, he took it really hard.  The best version I've heard of the story is from the Apple Store appearance, of which audio is available on iTunes, I believe.  Little quote from the last question regarding his reaction, "I was down for the count- locked my doors, pulled down my shades, started shoveling the chocolate ice cream."  So yeah, there's just something about him sitting on the couch, in full-on Mal gear, eating ice cream that makes me a little sad.

So am I on to something?  Or am I seeing things that aren't there?

You think I'm right about the ice cream?  I've watched it over and over and freeze-framed it every which way and I just can't tell if it's chocolate… it must be, though.

You guys are good. All of the above is true. Kudos to the "shindig" catch-I should have seen that one!

Everyone realizes that Castle has a framed print of a firefly  (the bug, not the ship!) on his office wall, right?  It can be seen in several episodes, but I don't think it's in this one.
