Initial numbers for Castle this week show another increase, as usual, numbers may drop a little after adjusting for the DWTS overrun and NFL aired instead of Castle in some locations.

That's great!  I just don't understand why DWTS always goes over.  Each week another couple leaves, so they should be able to cut the show down to fit it in the two hour spot.

Numbers will drop when final numbers are released due to some markets airing Football.  I say a 2.3 or 2.4 18-46 rating with 9.7 million viewers are still solid numbers.

same deal last week I think but the numbers didn't drop so it's not a given that they will. Info should be out soon.

Looking at the DVR figures the ratings for Castle usually increases by roughly 23% on the live figures. The show is in the top 25 most DVR'd shows.

Final numbers are actually better than expected.  I'm wondering what happens next year when Castle isn't against Monday Night Football and how the ratings will do when DWTS ends in two weeks.

DWTS hasn't really been doing much for the ratings so I'm not concerned with that, although depending on who they have cast as The Bachelor things could go south, which I doubt since Castle has a pretty solid fanbase.

DWTS this year hasn't played much a factor with Castle this season. I'd be willing to bet money that the tick down in the key demo was from the football game.

I checked the final numbers and Castle gained 381,000 more viewers from last week and has kept a 2.4 rating for 3 weeks running I believe. And even notced a 2.5 a couple weeks back.

If Castle keeps these numbers and ABC doesn't have another hit show in the spring I like our chances of another season. The big test comes when The Bachelor is the lead in instead of DWTS.

I'm happy about the numbers at this time. I will continue to push more people to watch all season so we gain each episode. I think that will have ABC give another season if the numbers are always up even though the demo is at 2.4 to 2.8.

I will be jumping with joy to see the show finally get to 10 Million viewers.

Hooray for Season 3!

I don't think the problem is with amount of viewers.  The 18-49 ratings is where the advertisers and tv studios look at.  2.4 is still on the borderline of success.  If it was doing a 3.0 18-49 rating and 9 million viewers it would be considered a hit.  I think it could grow next year with a 2.7 with no football airing and a growing fanbase.

I know but it was just nice to see the total viewers go up. I posted 381,000 when it was actually 391,000. Not bad to gain almost 400,000 viewers in a week.

I was really hoping it would start logging some 2.5/2.6's but we'll just have to keep spreading the word.
