As usual, Initial numbers for Castle this week show yet another increase, as always numbers may drop a little after adjusting for the DWTS overrun .

I saw that. It sounds like we might not even get the numbers at all today. Some sort of update is supposed to come around 2 pm pacific time but I hear it might not have anything to do with actual numbers.

Ratings will be released tomorrow.  I do enjoy the ratings banter and will they or won't they renew talk so today was a wash.

Castle 2.6 18-49 Rating 10.86 milliion viewers

I believe those are season high numbers for 18-49 ratings and viewers unless final numbers are lower.

Did you see the drop Castle had in the 2nd half hour? Ouch.

I haven't paid any attention to Pisher since last season when I figured out what his agenda is. I'd probably enjoy those boards if they had an ignore feature available.

So the finals are in. Not bad at all. It ticked down to a 2.5 which equals the season high but kept 10+ million viewers.

Wait till Castle doesn't have DWTS as a lead.  That will be the biggest sign if Castle will be renewed or not.  In the first season Castle didn't have good lead ins and the ratings suffered.  I think the ratings should be better next year but ratings won't as good as the 2nd season numbers so far.

As Ollin has said the real test comes when Castle doesn't have DWTS as the lead in. I think it has a real good chance to stay steady with The Bachelor as the lead in but we'll see.

With V and Flashforward sinking in the ratings it also depends on whether ABC has any break out hits with mid season replacements. From what I've read they don't have a real stong lineup but it's hard to guess those things.

This is what I found on Futon Critic.com:

"Castle" (10:00-11:00 p.m.)

Hitting season-highs in viewers and young adults, ABC's "Castle" overshadowed NBC's "Jay Leno" in the 10 o'clock hour in Total Viewers (best-ever margin of +6.4 million viewers 10.9 million vs. 4.5 million) and Adults 18-49 (+86% – 2.6/7 vs. 1.4/4). In fact "Castle" generated its biggest audience in over 8 months (since 3/16/09) and the series' 3rd-most-watched telecast ever.

One of TV's biggest gainers in the 10 o'clock hour this season, ABC's "Castle" is generating substantial increases over its first-reported numbers through DVR playback, picking up an average 1.7 million viewers and an additional 6-tenths of an Adult 18-49 rating point (+26%) from the initially reported Live + Same Day Numbers to the Live + 7 Day DVR finals.

On average, "Castle" is greatly improving the time period year to year for ABC, growing its hour over the same nights last year with "Boston Legal" in both Total Viewers (+1.7 million 10.8 million vs. 9.1 million) and Adults 18-49 (+17% – 2.8/7 vs. 2.4/6).

So much…Castle…….so very, very much!!

Something that I think is going on is the fact that ABC has some of the better programming on TV these days. Yeah, there are some great shows on other channels, but ABC is bringing the big shows/big bucks.

Tv by the Numbers actually said something nice about Castle, I swear I'm not going to that site because they annoy me, but I always end up at it.  But today they had a positive spin on the numbers.
