Terrible, haha! I just joined to ask the same question, Heather! Had no trouble finding the opening song, but no luck at all with the last one.

I, too would like to know the ending song. I missed the opening so I didn't hear that music.

The ending song is "No Envy, No Fear" by Joshua Radin. At least that's what i read on another board while trying to find the first song!

I was a bit surprised that we learned Kate's backstory this early, but I'm happy to find it out, and happy that she opened up to Castle. And that she went over to his apartment to get his help!
I LOVED the laser tag scene. Rick Castle is the coolest dad ever.

LOVED THE LASER TAG SCENE TOO. What made it even funnier was mom coming in with green mud on her face and they answer the door together. Doesn't Castle live in a Doorman apartment in NYC. Don't guests have to be announced? Just wondering. Pretty CSI at beginning with the close ups of the dead body and the eyes . yuk.

This is my favorite episode so far. Nanny McDead had the wonderful scene between NF and MQ, but this episode added so much more to the relationship between NF and SK.
I was really bummed that there wasn't a repeat on Saturday last week. The repeat is where is pick up some of the dialog I missed the first time around.

I have to say the laser tag scene was my favorite so far.
This was a really great episode. The characters were interesting and I couldn't figure out the entire story in the first 10 minutes. I'm not a big fan of the scene at the end - as if Castle can solve her Mother's murder when she couldn't. I'm sure she pulled out all the stops to find out who killed her Mother and why. The only reason I liked the scene is because it showed how much he cares about her.

You can watch episodes on ABC.com
I don't watch regular tv anymore hardly. It's easier to watch online for me :)

Castle has pretty much solved every one of her cases for her so far. Or at least he was a big contributor in her making the collars. So it's pretty obvious to me that he may have some insight that she missed on her mother's case.

I think that since Kate was not a cop when her Mom died that her emotions and time since the death may have put her at a disadvantage in solving her Mothers case. Castle, however, from a removed emotional point of view could see clearer than Kate something involving her parents or just her Mom. I can't wait to see how this case with Kate's Mom's murder brings them closer together.

Thanks, HQuick, but I'm one of those dinosaurs with dialup. It would take me hours to watch an episode on line. :(

I think when Kate finds out Castle has her mother's file she is going to be pretty mad. I am betting she see it as in invasion because he got the file without her giving it to him. Plus she might be a little bit afraid of finding out the answer to who killed her mom. She's a cop and she knows statistically when someone is murdered it is more likely they were murdered by someone they know, not necessarily her father there could be a lover, etc. One thing, for sure, is it is going to be interesting.
I agree that Castle is going to have a more objective view but so would have the cops that originally investigated the murder. I think the emotions Castle feels for Kate and what she feels for him will help in solving the case. Once she's done being mad that is.

Besides, I can just hear Castle saying smugly "Stabbing a victim is personal" too personal for a gang type "wrong place wrong time scenario" so thinking out of the box as Beckett says might just be easier by Castle. Besides, I think her Dad will be where Castle starts. Her Dad taking it hard and taking a spin downward into alcoholism sounds like guilt to me! Guilt of an affair or a gambling debt—-or knowledge of something that was eating at him. Castle will dig into this one! I can't wait! :>D

Well, the way things are developping, and perhaps if Castel arrives and some sort of conclusion, she won't be so mad. Seeing where their relationship has started, and where it's leading, she's gaining a sort of tolerance for stuff he does such as this. Definatly in earlier episodes if she had discovered that he had done this, she'd be mad, super mad. Now, I'm not so sure. It all depends on how he deals with it and what he does with the information.

I love this episode !! I was waiting for that kind of revelation about Beckett past since the first episode, and I have been disapointed !
Now, I hope they won't stop there, but since Castle has read beckett's mother file I am sure he will try to resolve this mystery.

HOW CAN THEY EVEN CONSIDER CANCELING THE SHOW WHEN THERE ARE SO MANY PLOT LINES TO WORK OUT. BECKETT'S MOMS MURDER, NYC HAS SO MANY MURDERS TO SOLVE THEY NEED AT LEAST 4 SEASONS OF CASTLE FOR CASTLE TO DO A GOOD JOB ON NICKY HEAT RESEARCH. WRITERS ARE GREAT… KEEP UP THE GREAT LINES… DO NOT FORGET THE SCENCE WITH THE OTHER DETECTIVES. THEY DESERVE SOME FACE TIME TOO.

It is true that Castle and Beckett are equally good at solving murders, but they are at their best when they think together. In A Chill Runs through her Veins, Beckett couldn't figure out how Sam got the body out, and Castle didn't really try to, but together they not only figured out how Sam did it, but then figured out who killed Sam, too. Castle has "resources" too, that Beckett didn't at the time her mom first got murdered. Castle is asking Dr. Death to review the file, and I gather he was not the M.E. who did the autopsy of Beckett's mom or the other cases he mentions to Castle. (I hope it wasn't Lanie BTW). Anyway, as we see in the Episode 10, Beckett is mighty hurt and mad after Castle tells her he looked into the case after she told him not to.
Love this show.
