UGH! I was watching this episode recently, and kinda wanted to be ill when FBI-fellow (I hate him so much I don't even want to say his name) was making out w/ Beckett. Ugh! Ugh, ugh, ugh! Although at least she didn't really, really hardcore deny liking Castle. And I LOVE the battle between Castle and FBI-fellow in their 'whose is bigger' deal.

Ugh. "You are jealous- that I hooked her." Hooked her? Man, only a jerk would phrase it like that!

Ok- I couldn't resist! Just one more comment. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the banter between Castle and Beckett in this. I DO NOT love the banter between Beckett and Sorensen. But I do kind of like that Castle doesnt know those few little tidbits about Beckett and her mother's death that Sorensen (ugh) knows.

Do they even HAVE shoe-shine stands in New York? Anyone who lives there know?

Hello!! I just watched this episode today for the first time and thought I would share a few thoughts and ask a question..

Firstly , Aussie Castle, when Beckett says 'we both know what that life is like'- my take on it was – we know what that life involves.. and she described following him all over and having to move with her own job all the time.. and that it was a big sacrifice he was asking of her – and he treated it pretty casually.. Sorenson is gorgeous.. but.. he doesn't deserve Beckett.

I loved watching Castle in this episode.. he was, at times, like a boy in the candy shop – my impression was that he was thrilled, excited to see an old flame of Beckett's show up and to get this insight into Beckett.. Castle says to Beckett "I know Nicki Heat better than you think. " – with conviction and flat out determination.. whoooo look out Beckett!!

Yeah loved that line about screwing it up and I'll kill you..

I would like to say I enjoyed the moment where Castle volunteers to deliver the ransom, Sorenson refuses, but Beckett backs up Castle, and ( while avoiding looking at castle who was standing right behind her!) she tells Sorenson that she has worked with Castle for a while now and he is good with pressure.. he can handle it – that I think is a big moment!! and then.. when Castle is kicking himself for not seeing who took the bag, and he is doubting himself.. Beckett and he have a quiet moment, and she reassures him that he did good, he did his job.. and it is not his fault. awh!!

Was Castle actually jealous in this episode? hmmm.. I know he really didn't like Sorenson.. but at the same time, IMHO- I don't think he was..[when Sorenson was kinda mooning over Kate being so cute with the baby, Castle was watching him and kinda laughing to himself about Sorenson and how gone he was!!] I don't think Castle ever seriously considered that Beckett was going to considering dating Sorenson again- like he said – he knows Nicki Heat better than she thinks.. And.. when Castle walks in on Sorenson and Beckett kissing(more accurately, Sorrenson kissing Beckett!) IMO- Beckett may have been seeing this was a little awkward- but she didn't seem to me to really mind Castle catching them.. rather she seemed a bit defiant to me.. once she recovered! and yes, Sunshine Minx I agree with you- I too enjoyed that she didn't flat out deny liking Castle.. she paused.. and said with a smile that he is interesting!! whoooo!! oh and sunshine minx, when I lived in NY about 10 years ago, I saw shoe shine stands.. if that helps!

Lastly, can someone help me with the ending to this one???!!! HELP!!!! Castle asks Beckett for a drink, (she has just turned down Sorenson and sent him packing..) and she says 'no! she has a date.' now…. with who? is she for real? Castle certainly looks like he is believing it.. but the date isn't with sorenson and it seems like Castle doesn't think the date is with Sorenson.. interesting that he guessed that!!

What do you all think? hmmm.. maybe a blind date? It just sounds to me kind of like a way for Beckett to strike back at Castle – as when she walks off she states 'maybe I'm more like Nicki Heat than you realise.'.. ( I'm thinking maybe castle thinks your more like Nicki Heat than you realise!!) .. but.. my immediate reaction was – does she really have a date? and then she goes and does that sassy walk of hers like – you can't have me! ha haaaa.. ( which I kinda cringe a little at as it seems a bit forced- but don't flame me, I love Stana and I love detective Beckett!!It's just a bit over the top for me.. )

Very interesting when Beckett goes off with Sorenson to check something out and she tells Castle to go home.. he looks crestfallen.. but he does go home.. but not before having a little moment with her – telling her to call, even if it is just to talk.. awhhhhh because they talk together so well I imagine.. and they work best when they talk together.. Beckett seems to be quite affected by Castle here at this moment.. hmmmmm!!

Last thought I promise- I enjoyed Castle having his aha! moment with monkey bunkey. very cute!!! so in the middle of the night he goes to the little girl's bedroom to search for her white bunny- only to find Beckett sound asleep in the rocking chair.. awh!! but it is funny how he knows she's there but just gets on with searching for the bunny anyway without bothering to wake her! hehehee.. they are alike in that.. they are both determined, and single minded.. and both think nothing of working through the night… in that they are of like mind.. awh!! and it was cute to hear Beckett all drowsy ask in a quiet voice what he was doing there.. I'm glad they went with a sweet vibe rather than sexy here.. good call!!!

Would love to hear anyone's thoughts on this ep, I am surprised with Sorenson showing up and all the male ego on show that there weren't more opinions offered!! hehehe..

Help!!???!!! :) do people think kate really had a date? I thought she was working 24/7 and complaining about having nothing to do on saturday nights or something.. I haven't seen all the season 2 eps yet( that have been on tv I mean!) does she ever say that again??

I haven't seen the episodes between 2.02-2.09 yet.. working my way through them now.. I don't remember her saying that and then going home to a book.. maybe it is in an episode I haven't seen yet..

Whoa.. Beckett is a girl after my own heart.. we don't want Castle thinking she will drop everything for a drink with him right on 2 seconds notice right?! I guess if she doesn't have a life the next best thing is pretending you do.. ha haaaa…
