Well.  The chat was certainly an experience I'm sure everyone will agree!!

Firstly, a HUGE thanks the everyone for showing up and thanks to my anonymous mods who did their best and worked very hard behind the scenes to try and keep things running smoothly.

I'm sure people have feedback they'd like to provide so I'd like to explain a few things first.

For those that weren't able to make it, we were joined in chat by Terri Miller (Castle writer/producer), Jon Huertas, Seamus Dever, Tamala Jones AND Stana Katic!  They were all on set, in the interrogation room and for the most part Terri was typing on behalf of everyone.   Everyone stayed back after they finished work so that they could come and chat with us which was very generous of them!  They stayed for an hour and a half!

The plan was to have a formal Q&A session to start off, with everyone set to “silent mode” so that people couldn't interrupt the chat (as per our usual way of doing things) but our guests thought it would be more fun to see how people were reacting to them. 

We had 263 chatters in the room so clearly allowing everyone to jump in was not going to work so the guests and I decided we would try a compromise and un-silence the regular participants from the site.  I had three moderators helping and we did our best to catch all the regulars and allow them to respond.  I am aware that some regulars were not un-silenced and I apologise.

Unfortunately the experience didn't go as smoothly as I would have liked (and frankly I’m a bit disappointed because the regulars should have known better), there was a lot of chatter going on while the guests were trying to answer the officially posted questions.

On top of this, the internet connection at the "precinct" was unstable and our guests got booted out a couple of times.

I'd like to say thanks to everyone for coming and I hope that you enjoyed the chat despite the issues we had.  There was a LOT going on behind the scenes to try and make this work as smoothly as possible, I'm aware "smooth" isn't a word many would use to describe our chat but we did our best and learnt a few things that will help us out next time.

Terri did a fantastic job of typing for everyone, I don't know if any of you have ever tried typing responses for another person but it's hard work and tends to be a bit slower than when you're typing for yourself. Terri did great!

FINALLY… all said and done, I'm reassured that our guests did enjoy the chat and they would like to do it again some time.  So for those of you that were concerned they would be frightened off, there's no need to be, opening the chat up the way we did was what THEY wanted and they had some idea what to expect.

I am working on the transcript and will send it off to the guests for their approval and if granted will post it for others to see.

We had 263 people in the chat room simultaneously and yesterday this website in general  had around 10,000 visitors (that's about 4x the daily average) so in addition to juggling the chat room, trying to sort questions, update twitter & Facebook, answer questions from chat visitors and trying to help the mods understand what to do I was also trying to make sure the website didn't crash from all the traffic. It was one HECTIC day for me so I hope you'll all be forgiving for any mistakes you feel I made.

I welcome feedback however I feel I need to make it clear that there are many factors to consider and a lot going on behind the scenes to take into account and we will never be able to make everyone happy.
