Some time ago in chat I mentioned I was going to be in LA in July for personal reasons and would be catching up with some of my local  friends while I'm there.  Someone suggested that there were a number of people from this site in and around LA and I should get together with them too.  From that grew the idea to get together with some others from CastleTV.net for a kind of fan party.  We first posted about this some time ago but now it's time to really get things moving, we have less than 4 months to go!

Please note that this is NOT a convention as I don't have the massive budget (think $50k+) required to pay guests to attend, it's just a group of fans getting together to have fun around a common interest.

With my having to urgently replace my computer I'm a lot behind in saving for this trip so there's a chance I may not make it though I'll be doing everything I can to be there and even if I'm not I'll still make plans so everyone else can still enjoy the weekend.

Friday 16th July - Casual Dinner – location to be determined but it will be somewhere convenient to accommodation.

Saturday 17th July – Castle Filming Location Tour – I'm thinking about keeping the actual locations secret until the day for an added dimension of fun *

* Notes on the location tour:

Locations will be kept secret for an added dimension of fun but we'll be visiting a number of locations around LA that have been used in the filming of Castle.

There will be some costs involved to cover gas for the drivers & any locations which require a fee to attend but we'll keep the costs as low as we possibly can and will try to let you know approx amt as soon as we've finalised the plans.

We'll be needing some volunteer drivers – preferably locals who are familar with the area, if you're interested in helping out please get in touch.  We'll be making sure everyone contributes to the cost of gas.

Useful Information

If you're looking to save money on flights, accommodation & care hire you should try sidestep.com to search for the best deals.  I've heard that in the US Wednesdays tend to throw up lower rates for everything so be sure to check on different days for the best deal.

Once we've determined the location for the dinner I'll post the general area so that those booking accommodation have the option of booking somewhere close by for convenience.
