Meant to also say AwaysKate, I would be interested in meeting up if we are close by each other. We are planning on getting there around noon Thursday, and leaving sometime Sunday.
Sounds great. My friend and I are flying in on Saturday early, hitting the Castle panel then either the Castle after party (If they have one, which would be incredible!!!) or back to hotel then sight seeing all day Saturday and we may go to the "Vampire Diaries" panel. Not really a fan, but included in my ticket. Or just more sight-seeing. Then Sunday we have to head back pretty early. Do you know where you are staying?
I can't wait!

OnlineI don't know where we are staying yet. I have several that look promising, but I won't be buying the plane tickets/hotel room until next week. My friend and I have to break it to our boss that we will be gone at the same time (or I guess ask if we can). He won't be back for a week. Hopefully it will not be a problem. I am looking at the Beverly Hilton or wishful thinking on the Montage Beverly Hills.

OfflineUnfortunately there won't be opportunity to meet the cast, that's the big catch with things like Paley … also the thing that will make the next Castle convention all the more awesome [Image Can Not Be Found]
I should add, there MAY be an after party .. but it will only be available to those with premium tickets and I don't think it's guaranteed Castle will be one of the ones to have the after party.

No it's not guaranteed. I figure if you buy a Festival Package, it's a 25% chance since there are 4 shows per package and at least one of them will have an after party. When I spoke to Renee (who I was connected to when I called Paley- they said he was one of the head organizers) he said that after the Q&A many casts do an autograph session and I saw on the Paley site that some people who had been there before had gotten to mingle afterwards with the cast (not Castle, but another show) while some did not. So it's definetly a gamble.
Thanks for pointing that out though, so people don't have unrealistic expectations.
Regardless, the Castle Convention is a sure thing and since I went last time, I can say that if I could only do one, that would be it. Had an awesome time!
Getting an autograph at Paley means being prepared to be rude and push and shove and trample over people to rush to the stage when the event is over and hope you're one of the lucky ones to actually get autographs… people need to be aware it's not a formal autograph session… just pointing it out, as AlwaysKate11 said, because I don't want people to have unrealistic expectations and then feel disappointed when it wasn't what they thought.

OfflineWoo hoo! Just scored my ticket! My best friend lives in LA so I have a free place to crash and had a flight saved up on my Frontier Airlines card. I would recommend to people who have a hard time flying getting a mileage card. I rack em' up and save them for weird unplanned trips like this. Works out really well!
I've never attended a Castle event… I'm nerdily excited!!! I'm on Mezzanine level which is a bit further back than I'd like but I just noticed this today so I was just glad there were any left! Has anyone been to the Saban Theatre before? Is it huge? Am I wayyy back there?

I purchased mine this morning for myself, my 10 year old daughter, and my two Castle friends. Should we pick a hotel close to the theater, and should we rent a car? We will be in LA from Thursday until Sunday. Hoping for some site seeing time, and maybe, if we are lucky, a chance to see Castle filming somewhere.
Would anyone like to meet up at some point?
I don't think driving is that awful… it's the parking that sucks! If you rent a car budget another gazillion dollars because you have to pay to park everywhere!

OfflineIf this event wasn't a) the week before finals, b) during my conference presentation across the country, I would definitely be there. This is one of times where living in LA has its benefits, but I guess it wont work out for me…
In any case, I really hope they publish another recording of the event.
Also, having a car in LA is a must. Driving really isn't that bad as long as you map it out first (and try to avoid the freeways around hollywood/downtown if possible). Beckettrocks is absolutely right, parking is a huge pain.
