Hey Jose, you asked for difficult questions, so here they are!

-In a hypothetical world, if Firefly was going to return, and you were hypothetically given a huge responsibility to either decide between: a) going back to writing for Firefly and bringing Nathan with you, thus ending Castle OR b) turning down the offer and Nathan staying on Castle and Firefly ending for good, what would you choose?

-If Nathan Fillion and Stana Katic did not exist in this world (*cries*), who would you cast as Castle and Beckett?

And a few maybe not so difficult ones :P

-I'm taking a film class this semester, and I've noticed that sometimes the way that people interpret scripts can be very different. What is your job when you are on set filming an episode you have written? Do you have any say in how the script gets executed or do you just leave your faith in the director to create your vision? Do you ever observe something and think "thats not how I imagined it in my head…"?

-If you couldn't be a writer and had to choose any other job in the television-making process (e.g. actor, director, DP, editor, sound editor, stunt person, costume designer :P etc.) what would you choose? What do you think you would be best at?

Would all the hoopla and jibber jabber over CHUCK ever concern or steer you in a different direction regarding the Beckett/Castle storyline? i.e. Last nights ep of CHUCK has Chuck and Sarah going their separate ways for the time being, which has caused a firestorm in the blogoshere.

If I said pancakes to you, how does that make you feel?

I really love Beckett and Martha scenes. Is Martha meant to be seen as a kind of surrogate to her in some way, shape, or form??

Was the order for the two additional episodes an unexpected request from the network. Is it considered a vote of confidence in the series that they want to air two more episodes? Does such a request bode well for a 3rd season renewal in the near future?

Was on the chat last night…a little intimidated, so I was just a silent observer…but I just wanted to thank admin and Jose for it all. It was so interesting and so much fun! What a great experience to get some behind-the-scenes insight!

Would have been interested in hearing Jose's response to loripeeps' CHUCK question, especially since Jose watches it. Also, to Elizah's Lanie/Perlmutter question…hopefully I'll be up late one night and catch Jose in chat!

Any chance of getting a footnotes version of the chat or any tidbits?  There was no way I could stay up for it….way too late for me since I knew I would be getting up early to shovel the awful snow we got….lol

But if not, totally understand.  I'm sure it was great.

I will be sending the transcript to Jose – if he approves I will post it to the site. It'll be a few days though, there's a lot of prep to do before I can send it off and I'm a bit swamped right now

I'll tell you one thing, if anyone's taking a speed reading course, going to the chat room during a "free for all" with Jose afterwards would be good practice!!!!!!!!!

I am so sorry I couldn't attend this chat — 11 is just too late for an East Coast teacher on a school night.  I am so disappointed because I love Mr. Molina's wit, intelligence, and wisdom.

I was reading a thread over at the ABC site, and someone raised concern over something Jose said in this chat. That made me remeber that I had wondered about it too, when he typed it in response to a question about how many seasons of Castle he envisioned:

[Jose Molina] 5-6, maybe? maybe 7? I think eventually we have to evolve c/b to another stage in their relationship
[Jose Molina] and when they get too serious, the cop work I think has to come to an end
[Jose Molina] since the cop work is really just foreplay
[Jose Molina] if they were married doing cop work the show would turn into hart to hart!

What is your take on this? I assume that the writers have a general sense of the trajectory of the C/B relationship, and this makes it seem like any real realtionship between the two is destined for the end of the show's run/final season. I SO hope this is not the case. I really dislike when shows go that way and you never get to enjoy the couple together for any period of time.

Stana actually brought up Moonlighting in response to a question of when C/B would get together, and I also hate using that show in comparison, as the Moonlighting leads got together at the end of season 3 and everything went downhill from there…not beacuse they were together, but because of a lead's pregnancy, a writers' strike, tension between the leads, and the leads not in scenes together for many months. Even so, Moonlighting was filled with amazing shipper moments up to the point they got together and even after…although many were in dream sequences.:blah:

Anyway, I was just wondering what everyone interpreted by Jose's comments about the plans for C/B. I don't think they need to be together in the near future, but I'd love to see many juicy moments along the way!

I think it's just Jose's own personal opinion and no indication of where the show is going. We need to be careful not to read too much into comments like this. I think the only one that really has any idea at all of the long term vision for the show is Andrew Marlowe himself. I think it's safe to say they've got an idea where they'd like to take things in season 3, but planning anything beyond that given the nature of the industry I think would not be practical.

Again, I feel like I need to emphasise that this is just Jose's own thoughts at that moment in time, don't make any assumptions based on one person's thoughts.
