Then I'm not really sure either. Hm, whatever is decided, it's definitely gotta be a contest or something… sounds like a challenge of who can chat the most!

We could keep track of how many questions each of them can answer in a set amount of time (20 minutes for each writer?), and the writer who can answer the most in that time will win the chat-off! They could be the same questions just so it would be fair. Then we could have a free for all at the end with both writers because that would just be fun (and crazy!).

Admin is there any way during chat to count how many times 1 person says anything? 

we could set them up in two chat rooms go for the "Free for all" and see who answers more, just have to make sure people know they don't have to be formal questions. 

It could be like a dance off.

They get a funny topic to tell a story and one of the two goes first and we keep score who is in the lead.

We then go back and forth on the lead person, since it is such an advantage to go second.

The topics will be light and easy to write about and we can have a scoring method before hand to keep it fair. 

Hmmm, I think I'd want them both in the same chat room for sure.  Perhaps we could have a two-part chat off.  The First Part with pre-described questions–I like the idea of asking each of them the same question and then having the "fans" vote on the best answer.  While I think its great to have a mixture of silly questions with legit questions, I think I'd prefer even the silly questions be minimally about writing or specifically the Castle set/crew/cast since they ARE Castle writers/directors giving us their time.   For example, we could ask them who's played the funniest prank on set and describe it; or which cast member is the butt of most of the pranks/jokes; or which of them has written their eposides the fastest and how they did it; or which of them has the goofiest hobby outside of work.   You get the idea. 

For the Part Two:  a wide-open fan directed deluge of questions and we could see which of them could answer the most questions in a set time period. 

After all is said and done, we'd have to count the "best answers from the fans" in part ONE with the number of questions answered in part TWO to determine the chat off champion.

As Admin mentioned- this chat-off is all about fun, first and foremost. They work alot and work some long hours so this chat-off should really be something that allows them to let loose a bit. 

We just have to figure out a way for it to not be overwhelming… for all of us. 

My idea for the chat off,

We all send story ideas/themes consisting of 1 or 2 lines to Admin, who chooses the best one. From there when Jose and Terri are ready for the chat off they are given the topic line. They then have 20 minutes to work together and improv a story.

The way it works is they can only submit 3 lines each time, taking turns playing off of each other. They can make it as crazy as they want. They can even get smart and try to throw the other off with tough lines.

They can make side comments to eachother just for fun or insults by using parenthasis ( )

After 20 minutes, all the chatters cast a vote as to who had the best lines, or really made it a good story to read.

So that's my idea I just made up off the top of my head. :)

Reading through these… and I think we need to really make this fun/easy for the writers.

Hw about this…

Have Terri be Beckett and Jose be Castle..   that could be fun with some kind of "murder of the catering truck driver" or something (the actors talked a lot about those "trucks" during the S1 commentary).  I think that's fair.. and then we can judge by the lines afterward…  just a thought. AND it could be hillarious.

Plus, I think it might be hard to annouce the winner at the end of the chat..  we might need a couple of days as they are both excellent.
