So it occurred to me… I used to read these pretty fun Star Trek:Voyager stories, that were written as a 'virtual season' after the series ended. Not saying that Castle is anywhere in THAT ballpark, but I thought it would be fun, once the summer hiatus starts, to have maybe a virtual season type deal? Or maybe, over the summer, do some sort of mini-story thing. Like the "Animatrix" movies, each a mini story about something in the Matrix world that was touched on but not explained well?

It'd be a nice way to pass the summer months.

I LOVED those stories!!!  Probably some of the most creative fanfic I've read, very detailed too.  Might be a good idea for those fanfic writers out there wanting to keep us entertained over the summer– speculating on what Castle and Beckett are up to during summer heat waves…

Here's a link to what that project was all about: http://vv8.jetc.org/mission/mission.html

Pretty legitimate stuff.  I'm not much of a fanfic writer, but for those who are, this might give you some ideas for Castle (obviously Voyager was a sci-fi show, but you may still draw inspiration from the overall setup of that project)

I'm so glad someone else read them too! I did think they were awesome. They were really, really well done, and it would be nice to do a filler of some sort during the hiatus like that.

My goodness…I remember virtual seasons! Some of them were quite well done. I don't know that I could write an episode—I'm not good at plotting out murder mysteries—but it would be interesting to see all the fic writers we have here collaborate on a series.

Interesting idea.

It sounds very well planned out since it has a story-arc, with stand alone episodes sprinkled through the weeks. The time frame sounds very intense. A new episode every week. Coffee It's ambitious for sure. Great idea though if you can get enough writers to commit to such a gruelling schedule.

so who writes fanfic and is active in these forums?  I haven't read a lot of Castle fanfic yet, but if we could get all those writers together, maybe they could come up with their own schedules, their own mysteries, etc.  See what they think.

I know they did sound rather intense, so maybe even just a series of short filler-fic? Like…the moments that were mentioned and never mentioned again?

Example: Who won the date with Castle in "Home Is Where The Heart Stops"?

There must be a fair amount of unanswered questions in seasons 1 and 2…

Awesome idea!  We'll have to start a list.  Or they could almost be like a daily (weekly, whatever) dose of your necessary Castle-Beckett fix. Love2

I think we should post the scenes that we'd like expanded on and make a list.

Then after the list is done FF authors can chose the scenario they'd like to explore and work with that set up. They would of course have to keep to the time table, if they think they can't they should pass on it and give it to someone else… or it could get moved on the list if no one else wants to tackle it. That's just my suggestion if it helps.

Good idea.  Number one on my list:

Castle and Beckett's date at the end of The Third Man.

sounds like an interesting project, especially the idea of tying up loose ends from various eps.

How about this – where do C & B  go at the end of the Mistress episode, I wonder?

Some of these are already covered by fan-fiction, but here are some of the "left to your fantasy" scenes:

The last poker game in 108 Ghosts

The breakfast in 107 Home is where the heart stops

The date Beckett has at the end of 109 Little girl lost

Castle taking toddler Alexis to the park 102 Nanny McDead

Castle going with Alexis on school trip 103 Hedge fund homeboys

Beckett and Alexis talking about going abroad 209 Love me dead

What happened after the end of 110 A death in the family, both Beckett/Castle and Beckett/Sorenson

Beckett, Castle, Ryan & Esposito going out after 202 The Double down

How Ryan and Esposito reacted to reading Heat Wave (especially page 105, of course) after 204 Fool me once

Beckett calling her dad 105 A chill goes through her veins, and 218 Boom

The rest of the party in 206 Vampire weekend

After the concert in 207 Famous last words

The interview Castle had with the newspaper in 214 The third man

What Beckett did between leaving the presinct and meeting her dad in 213 sucker punch

The wedding party in 212 A rose for everafter. There have to have been at least one dance…

I wish I knew how to quit you.
