I know in past interviews if Nathan was ever asked if he was single, he’d skilfully avoid the question without being rude about it, I respect him for wanting to keep his personal life personal.
Can't say I blame him, I'm sure he doesn't want to see his personal life spalshed all over the world's magazines for people to drool/gloat over. I'd rather read articles about his faboulous new show than his personal life, particularly if things aren't going so well.
I also notice that a lot of very talented actors/actresses are very skilled at not being splashed over magazines by just not doing things to draw attention to themselves (like Lindsay Lohan or Paris Hilton). I respect those actors a lot more. Reminds me that most people's lives (even those in Hollywood) are just as boring as mine. :P

Yer but I do love reading about the train wrecks! Makes it doubly exciting when I find a Nathan/Gerry article about a new movie/show etc. They still have to do the mundaine tasks we all have to do – grocery shopping, dentist appts etc.
