I got the first season this weekend and watched all 10 episodes over the past 3-4 days. Nathan rocks. I always hoped some other network would have picked up firefly so it was good to see him do another series on TV. I don't think his last try Driven\Drive made it to far. But I love the Castle character and the interaction between him, Becket and the other guys on the force. They really act like old firends they way they tease and respect each other.
I can't wait for the new season.
But what is the deal with the book. Did they sign some author to throw something together to promote the show. Kinda like how True Blood will be releasing a TruBlood soft drink this year?

Hi PAPutzback – welcome to the forums, we’re glad to have you come join us. Yes, Drive was definitely a short lived show, it was never given a chance being cancelled just 8 days after it first aired!
The book is a promotional tool, it’s also a fun thing for the fans because it ties in quite strongly with what we saw in season one – and possibly with some of what happens at the beginning of season 2. I guess you could think of it (and the @WriteRCastle Twitter account) as an alternative to websisodes, just something to keep existing fans happy and try to encourage new ones to check out the show.
If you haven’t checked out the twitter account yet, there’s a bit of a mystery going on that Castle is trying to solve. You can catch up by going to his facebook page where all the posts up to a couple of days ago have been posted.
PS. That's such a young baby-face pic of Nathan you have as your icon there!

Welcome PAPutzback! The twitter mystery and the online chapters of the books should tide you over until Season Two airs, and it's good fun to watch both unfold. I hope to *see* you around the boards, and I almost didn't recognize your icon as Nathan haha.

Welcome! Love the avatar . Is that his real hair??  Also, where did you get season 1? Is it on DVD and I didn't even know? (which is entirely possible, since I never pay attention to the important things. Or did you download on iTunes?
