As the thread title suggests, I'm curious as to what you use to create your video masterpieces! What do you use to get the clips, edit, add sound, sync, etc.?

For DVD ripping, I use Magic DVD Ripper. I love that program so much. Simple, high quality rips. For editing it varies on my mood. Lately I've been experimenting with Final Cut Pro as my wonderful hubby got it for me as a gift. It's a steep learning curve for me though.Things the more basic programs do automatically seem to take more effort in FCP. On the other hand, I love how much I can tweak and play with stuff in FCP. I guess it's just gonna take me some time. In the past I have used, Adobe Premiere Pro, Vegas, Ulead and WMM. All have their merits.

I'm playing around with Windows Movie Maker and thinking of buying a higher-end program for more effects. I might look into your programs. 
At the moment, I pick up clips from YouTube with RealPlayer and convert the FLV files into WMV files (Media Converter's FLV Converter) that I can manipulate.

Almost all of them have free trials. So download and play with them all. I haven't used Ulead in years but it was a great step up from WMM at the time and kind of eased me into Adobe. I made some vids I was really happy with with Ulead 10.

I use an old copy of Premiere Pro. Unfortunately it and my computer don't always get along so I actually don't get to put in as much in the way of effects and detail work as I would like to.
Someday when I'm feeling rich I'll upgrade… everything…

any alternative for RealPLayer?and how do u download it from utube?
i like WMM easy to use with but too limited features…
why don't u try the sony vegas pro, that's what i always heard from those who make fanvid too and the corel….
a bit pricey but there's always a trial period[Image Can Not Be Found]
