OfflineI've been wondering about it today and I think I need some explanation, or theories, or speculation, whatever.
If you remember, back in season 1, episode 7 "Home Is Where The Heart Stops" Castle invited Beckett to the charity party. We were to Kate's appartment watching her trying to find a dress for the evening and Lanie being her advisor on the subject. And it seemed like all Beckett's dresses were wrong, as she eventually wore the dress Castle sent her.
Now, several months later, the miraculous change has happened and for the book party in episode 5 Beckett appeared in Herve Leger dress. In the promo pics for The Third Man episode, Beckett is also wearing really great red dress. I would like to know how this miraculous change has happened and who is "responsible" for it. If it's Lanie, then I'd like to see one or two scenes now and then of them discussing clothes or even perhaps visiting shops with dresses after hours…

OfflineI love that blue dress too, not so fussed on the pink one she wore to the book reading, I just didn't think it suited her.
As for the red dress to the black tie affiar, it was gorgeous but not something most of us would have in our wardrobe. I know I sure don't
Even though the rest of her clothes are nice they aren't quite in that area. I don't really like that one shouldered red one either, I like the colour but not the style. The blue one was the best in my opinion.

OfflineI agree with MereBelle, I think that now she has a reason to dress up because of Castle. And before her job was just being a detective, now with Castle aboard, there are more Book releases etc. that she attends to, that she wouldn't have without him. Giving her a reason to dress up.
And I think the blue dress was the best color for her.
And as a side note, I think this would be a great dress for Lanie

OfflineI love the blue dress the most. It was unexpected for her to come in something like that, because like you said in season one she didn't have much of anything. But her style has changed a lot since last season and since she met Castle. I love all her clothes on the show.

OfflineI love her blue dress as well. It's funny that I never really thought about these gorgeous dresses Beckett was magically whipping out of her seemingly lacking closet. She DOES have a lot of clothes now that I think about it. She changes a few times every episode. Goodness!

OfflinePerhaps it is just me, but I enjoy the fact that Beckett has so many clothes. I just assume clothing is her vice. And I relate to that.

OfflineOk, because i'm obsessive, and it attracted my attention – i went back and counted the number of coats/jackets she's worn this season. It's an average of four per show, sometimes five and comes to (at least) 24 so far. I say at least because some of the leather bomber jackets are hard to distinquish from one another – all great but difficult to separate. The most frequently worn coat is the green leather trenchcoat that must make her rather unusual coloured eyes even more vibrant.

OfflineI'm in total lust with that green leather trench coat! So classy, yet modern.
It would be kind of interesting to have some sort of back story on her clothes, because I don't know how much NYC detectives make, but I would guess it's under $100k. That ain't a lot living alone in NYC. Therefore, it seems kind of unlikely that she would have $1,100 for a Herve Leger dress – family money? Eh it's all part of the fantasy and doesn't really matter in the end, but I'm just an annoying Virgo with a writing degree. LOL

I think it's pretty safe to assume no real female detective would be wearing the type of clothing Stana does on the series. If you even discount the gazillion jackets and dresses/blouses, I can guarantee NO FEMALE who may have to chase down perps is wearing Stana's heels!!!! I think we just have to assume the producers want a "glamorized" version of female detectives and not the real thing here.

no way would she wear those heels, she'd end up with a broken ankle and I would imagine not be able to run very fast in them. As for clothes I'd still not say she has a lot but more than before. Kate's a mix and match girl so it looks like she has a lot more clothes. Maybe Rick has bought a few for her? What she has is good stuff so I'd say she'd be quite annoyed if they were destroyed

Does ANYONE know where Beckett's red dress that she wore on her "date" in "The Third Man" episode? I MUST BUY IT AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!!!! please help!
There's another post about the dress from Ep 14 – might be easiest for replies about this particular dress to be posted there http://castletv.net/forums/beh…..-red-dress

OfflineWhat Beckett never seems to run out of are scarves — long, long scarves! I love her general look when she's on work-mode. The stylist/s always add these little touches of color, more like blooms than pops, which I find totally in keeping with Beckett's character. And that blue dress…yowza! By far the best one yet, even if completely out of Beckett's budget as a government employee. I thought the beaded red dress Castle got for Beckett was…well…glamorous but fairy-tale-ish, the kind of dress a literary man like Castle would give as fairy god-father (which is partly why I think the line "Bibbity bobbity boo" worked so well). Plus, I thought it made her look thick. The other dresses were in-character, in the sense that they were, I thought, generic, and in that sense, easy for Beckett to buy/have. The pink dress, not a Beckett color. The red one-shoulder dress, didn't show off Stana's body so well, and finally…what she wore to Keira's wedding…horrible, not to mention the strange pouf-y hair. Nope, Beckett with her forever-legs and her lean body are best paired with well-tailored pieces like that blue cocktail dress and yes, that infamous red billiards dress! Hope the Castle stylists keep going with that!
Oh, and can I just say, I love Alexis' style. Her accessories are so young and fun without being flashy and/or trendy. How I envy redheads, and all the unusual hues and shades they can pull off!
