So I'm a huge classic movie fan and when I saw this old Charade poster, I couldn't help myself…  It's uncanny really!

 

 

Got another one coming with a pic of Hepburn and Tracy…

Nice find. I wonder if that poster was the original inspiration for that promo pic. AM has often said he based C&B's interactions off of old hollywood films so it would make sense.

That's awesome katban.  Thanks for sharing that.  I'm a big fan of that movie and Cary Grant in particular.  In addition to the obvious similarities in the pictures, what a cool parallel… Stana/Beckett has the grace, style, and presence of Audrey Hepburn and Nathan/Castle has the roguish charm of Cary Grant.

Exactly, dmcw! Definitely agree that there are similarities in their personas as well. I LOVE Cary Grant and really see a lot of the same charisma and charm in Nathan Fillion. Some of Nathan's faces on Castle remind me of CG's faces on the classic screwball comedies like 'Bringing Up Baby' or 'Arsenic and Old Lace'. I could especially see Nathan in the role of Mortemar Brewster!! Anyway, glad to see other people here appreciate the 'Oldies but goodies'!

That is an awesome find, katban.

Of course, I agree about the similarities between Stana/Audrey and Cary/Nathan.  But the role I dream of for Nathan is Cary's role in To Catch a Thief.   If you've seen him do other roles, like Serenity, then you know he could definitely pull off the dangerous charm as well as the funny.  And Stana can be a dark haired Grace Kelly.  Can you see it?Cool

The Philadelphia Story and Holiday, two of my favorites ( in addition to Bringing Up Baby) that star Katharine Hepburn and Cary Grant. I agree that Nathan is the Cary Grant of our day. But I think Stana is the perfect mix of Audrey AND Katharine Hepburn, she has the spunk and independent spirit of Kate Hepburn…

I wish I knew how to quit you.

Oh, definitely!  Love "To Catch a Thief"!!!  She could definitely could be a brunette Grace Kelly and Nathan's got so much charm and spice, he could definitely play that lead. 

Dang, Stana's ears should be burning with these posts- Grace Kelly, both Hepburns!  Wow! 

And Nathan too for that matter!
