I found this interesting article about advertising rates for all shows, including Castle.  I'm surprised at how low Castle's rate is.  (But since I'm a finance geek, at 23 episodes, Castle will still gross about $71M, not too bad, but more is better, since that has to pay the talent, the crew, the sets, etc and make a 50-70% gross profit for ABC– I'm guessing about that GP%, don't take it as gospel)   Now I think with the upticks it's been getting, its  AD rates should go up.  And the next Ad price setting is based on the November ratings period or the November sweeps period.  So gather all your friends, especially those who are Nielsen families and in the 18-49 demo, to watch during November.  I'm betting Castle got a nice turn out of new viewers with the Halloween episode and with the CBS shows being on reruns.

I think the ad prices are on par with the shows that get the same ratings. Castle averages 9.5 to 10 million viewers an episode. But the 18-49 Demo is still low with a 2.2-2.4 average. Advertisers are looking at the 18-49 Demo. I'm hoping those numbers increases with the next few weeks.

I don't understand how the 18-49 demos are low, when most of the people in this forum fall in that category – I thought we'd be representative of the actual overall audience!  Anyway, ad rates do reflect ratings, and I hope the ratings go up, because if ABC doesn't feel they can sell ads at a high rate, they'll look elsewhere.  But forget I just said that, because it CAN'T happen!!!  Please!  Going to the ABC store right now to buy stuff – not involved with the ad rates, but it still puts money in ABC's pockets, which they'll like.
