According to Michael Ausiello on Entertainment Weekly's website. I know it hasn't been officially renewed yet, but I like that he thinks it's a sure thing that it will be renewed. Smile

Thanks for the link.

His scorecard is much like tvbythenumbers. They're guessing on a number of things on which shows will get renewed/cancelled.

Still, it's nice to see more and more big media outlets saying that Castle is getting a season 3.

I'd like to put in my two cents for this article. I actually think Ausiello is more accurate than tvbythenumbers.

Here's why

Tvbythenumbers relies exclusively on ratings, that is all that they look at for the renew/cancel index.

Ausiello has contacts in the networks, ABC, CBS, NBC etc. He knows if the guys on top are happy about a show or not so happy. He doesn't just take ratings into affect, he knows if the networks people are leaning towards renewal, how they feel about the success of Heat Wave and so forth. He takes this into it not just the ratings.

He is also the guy who had Castle on his "could go either way" list last year then moved into a "safe bet" later after good ratings. Tvbythenumbers kept saying that Castle would probably be canceled.

That's just my opinion

I just read the transcript from the chat with Jose Molina on February 10th, and he seemed to be pretty confident about season three.

[Jose Molina] and I would say it (and our solid ratings) bode well for S3
[Jose Molina] especially considering how often they’ve been rerunning the show and how well the show’s been doing in repeats
[Jose Molina] I won’t jinx the show by saying anything…
[Jose Molina] but I’m cautiously optimistic
