OfflineThey always have to bring up Moonlighting and I don't get it. Moonlighting ended up differently because of many other things wrong with the show. Mainly Cybil got pregnant and she and Bruce fought all the time. The writing at Moonlighting got off the wall insane with Maddie sleeping with Sam and David on the same night, dumping both guys, having a baby and marrying a strange on a train, dumping him too , losing baby and then going off alone. It was insane writing in the end. It wasn't getting them together that killed the show it was what to do with them that killed the show. If you have good writing and good acting, good chemistry you can keep the show alive and the couple if you make it interesting and explore the couple while they are together. In most shows they have the couple end up together at the finale so we never get to see the couple explored but maybe a few episodes before or after a show wraps up.

OfflineI couldn't agree more pamfromcalif….the writing on this show is SO good, I can totally see these two together and still have the banter and URST especially why they work on cases and try to keep it professional. As Stana has pointed out in interviews when asked what this show is about or what to compare it to, she has been told by Mr. Marlowe to think "The Thin Man", etc. If I'm not mistaken, I believe the couple in that series were married and still had the banter. And I believe Castle and Beckett would too. To me this show is NOTHING like Moonlighting, its just so much better.

OfflineThis article is briefly talking about the Moonlighting curse. Meaning that they don't want it to go the way of Moonlighting. They're not really comparing Castle to Moonlighting in this article.

OfflineFunny, I didn't know that Andrew Marlowe referenced the Thin Man but after this episode that's what it really reminded me of.
Yeah, thought I, the tenor here is very like the Thin Man, in reverse.
In the movie, he is a detective and she is the charming witty crime-solving helper.
If that's what he's aiming for, it's working.
And yes – they are indeed a married couple in the film.
Not that I actually want Castle and Beckett to…get married….ack! so not ready for that yet.
(me, I mean; I am not ready for that.)

I didn't know so many other shows had couples on the verge.
Is no-sex the new trend? Has it now become a cliche?
Is this related to Twilight do you think?

Nope – most of these shows pre-date "Just say No" Twilight. Will they or won't they has been going on a long time – probably from the first stories ever told. RomCom, boy meets girl, boys and girls trying to be 'just friends' pick one, pick them all.
They could add Gilmore Girls to the EW list – it took forever for Lorelei and Luke to get together.
It may be my imagination, but there seems to be only two types of male/female relationships on TV – into and out of each other's beds at the drop of a hat (think Private Practice, Grey's Anatomy, every daytime soap) and ones where the URST between the male and female leads is palpable but continues to be unrequited (see the EW list). Sometimes both – see Bones where the leads specialize in URST but the secondary characters are wonderfully uninhibited.
And gods, guys – there's sex here to spare! the looks between these two characters could melt steel at times. The only thing slightly unreal about the CB relationship – given the clear level of attraction – is that they don't find unnecessary reasons to touch each other. You know – Rick's hand on Kate's back when letting the lady go first through the door, or Kate's hand on Castle's chest to stop him going someplace he has no business going. They do do the 'in your face, up close and personal' talking to one another well. any self-repecting WASP carrying the name Beckett or Castle would find offputting such behaviour from anyone to whom they weren't attracted/close.
