I just read this review on an Australian TV Guide website – talk about bad!
Anyone else want to write to them and tell this guy how wrong he is? It also sounds like even though Australia has started season two – the only reference this guy is using is the pilot…. soooo bad that he can post this stuff, he could have at least watched the latest epiosde and commented on THAT instead of presumably only seeing (or probably NOT even seeing) the pilot.
Let me be clear, I'm NOT suggesting we personally attack the guy, but rather present him with some messages about why Castle is a great show .
Stupid, cliched one-liners are the king of this clown-castle.
This show follows the life and times of Richard Castle (Nathan Fillion), a crime writer who has teamed up with cop Kate Beckett (Stana Katic) for artistic inspiration. Together, Castle and Beckett traipse around New York solving crimes that later appear in the pages of Castle's best-selling novels.
In this episode, the dynamic duo need to solve a crime that has occurred during New York fashion week — a model is found dead in a fountain.
In an effort to keep the crime genre fresh and interesting, this serial truly scrapes the bottom of the barrel. The idea that a crime writer is more adept at solving crime than the NYPD is an interesting one, but it doesn't really say anything positive about New York City's so-called finest.
As a semi-comedic protagonist, Richard Castle is simply uninspiring. It's simple, really: crime genres should stick to crime and not mix with comedy. And, as an aside, the attempt to foster some odd sense of sexual chemistry between the main characters crashes and burns faster than a lame one-liner. Oh, and finally — since when do crime writers openly participate in the interrogation process? It's unbelievably stupid.
Castle airs on the Seven Network on Sunday, November 1, at 9:30pm.
