Castle finish its second season on Cuatro on Thursday, July 15 –on AXN, one week later -converted in a sensational new tv show. The game of seduction between the imprudent and shrewd writer and the rational and reserved cop, create addiction. A good narrative trick exploited over and over again, from Moonlighting to Bones or The Mentalist. The original touch of Castle is that contributes an approach more literary to each criminal case. Hardly there are scenes of blood and dismembered dead bodies but there are insight and a lot of sense of humor.

The show of the death

“This work is very funny, is an authentic comedy, and that is one of the reasons why this goes very well. We are making a show of police procedures, where until a death is an spectacle. But that doesn’t minimize the great details of the plots”, says Nathan.

He is the eager novelist who collaborates with the NYPD to look for inspiration. This inspiration is Kate Beckett, a woman who moves away of the strict discipline of her work for listening the reflections of the imaginative but scatterbrained writer, who even turns to his friends (Michael Conelly, James Patterson and Stephen J. Cannell, real writers of best sellers) to follow his investigations.

The good chemistry between Castle and Beckett isn’t just an interpretative practice. “It emerges of a natural way. Nathan has a great talent and he loves what he does, it is easy play with him”, says Stana, happy with her role. Nathan, gentlemanly as his character, says: “She’s as a delicious cake. She knows the language of seduction and we have fun together”.

They are so satisfied of the effect obtained that they resist to break that fragile balance that they support in fiction: “If we get married, for example, the star would disappear. They feel attracted to each other, but they don’t admit it. Although between each other there is a great respect, they are very different. The life of Richard is a madness and she is emotionally blocked. They have a long road ahead. Our romance isn’t writed yet”, adds Nathan.

The chance of rebelling

Castle is very seductive. His number of conquests is proportional to the number of episodes. However, Kate hasn’t fallen into the arms of anyone until these last episodes. The chosen one is the rough detective Demming.

He admires all defects of his character above all: “This work seems for me a challenge, it’s something really fresh and comforting in my profession. Richard makes an effort to be a good guy. The charm of the ex-wife

That childish character that irritates to Kate is other of his strong points. The problem comes up when he turns to his fantasies and vigor: “Castle doesn’t know how a man must behave and he doen’t get rid of the label of ‘boy’.

But his immaturity is still attractive to his ex-wife, the sexy Gina, who reappears in the final episode as his lifeguard.

It’s the second collaboration of this actress, singer and model in this tv show and she may be in the new episodes.

Her glamorous and frivolous image contrasts with the lifestyle of this minor character imprescindible in the most viewed tv shows, Cold Case or C.S.I. Miami: “I have traveled all around the world, I was a free spirit”. Married to director Alex de Rakoff and mother of a child, she was part of the rock band Nancy Raygun.

A fascinating family

She isn’t the only woman who influences on Castle, also is his mother, Martha (Susan Sullivan), and his daughter Alexis (Molly C.Quinn).

The unforgettable Maggie Globertie (Falcon Crest) relieves her frustration being the conscience of her son: “I like going to lectures on old aging and women. There is where I really learn to grow old, something so difficult in this damn Hollywood. I’m the oldest of this show!”. She’ll be 68 years in November.

She is influenced by the vitality of the daughter of Castle, a teenager who shows the good sense and common sense in family relationships: “Alexis is the adult of the clan, the only one who is able to see what happen to her grandmother or to her father. Any act has its consequences, she learned this watching them”, says Molly.

In this finale stage, whereas Alexis demands more independence –an attitude that exasperates to her father-, Martha assume her age and she becomes less frivolous. They both encourage to Castle to admit his attraction to Kate finally. But their arguments won’t be enough effective.

The most sexiest

Her presence in the first episode of the tv show didn’t go by unnoticed.

Monet Mazur, apart from playing to the ex-wife, she’s too the demanding editor of Castle, the successful writer in dry patch.

She reappears in the final episode of season 2 as improvised muse of the writer. An unexpected narrative twist. As well, we can see her on NCIS: Los Angeles, on Telecinco, she’ll seduce to Chris O’Donnell. This will be next July 26.

Castle and Beckett going to end up together?

I can only say that their relationship will be the source of so many comments. We have a long way to go until we see them together.

Do you think is good to mix love with work?

Personally it isn’t a good idea (laughts). But it is also true that at work is where we spend most of time. Happens to me, at least.

How was the casting to find to Nathan and Stana?

When he read the script he said us: “Stop looking. I’m this guy”. For Kate, we saw over 150 actresses. Stana had the best chemistry with Nathan.

Agreed. Cuz we know there's gonna be a serial killer showing up throughout the season that will be a challenge to Beckett and Castle.

I can't wait to see the two head to "LA"  – what I want to know is how Castle pursuades Beckett to go with him!! lol  Although, she'd want to make sure that Nikki Heat is being portrayed correctly..but without seeming to eager to go with Castle. hahaah Should be entertaining, eh!  You know Ryan and Esposito will have fun with that one, lots of teasing I'm sure.
