Notso mucha media thingy as a sighting of Nathan's name on some media…type…thingy…
The husband and I were watching a dvd we burned recently of one of our lovingly taped episodes of MST3K from Comedy Central. It was episode 302 (classic Joel era!), Gamera.
In between the episode, coming in and out of commercial breaks, Com. Central put little MST3k factoids up on title cards, with facts ranging from behind the scenes info on the making of the ep, as well as blurbs about MST in the press.
This one came up that caught my eye (and made my geek girl heart go SQUEEEEE! and GLEEEE!)(oh and this is an approx. of the factoid):
ABC tv's newest Joey Buchanan, Nathan Fillion had this to say about what shows to watch: "There is but one: Mystery Science Theater 3000"
I'm sure the first time I ever saw the ep (way back in 1991) I probably though, "Who is Nathan Fillion?" 
At the signing he did at Barnes & Nobles at "The Grove", I was able to give Nathan a signed copy of my husband's book, "Better Living Through Bad Movies"(I figured if he was nice enough to sign mine, the least I could do was return the favor.) If he was a fan of MST3k, the book should definitely be his cup of tea!

And this is why I love Nathan. I order if he can quote the film with me?? hehe.

It's been so long since we had seen that ep, it was like watching it for the first time, again! 
I think some of my favorite riffs are Crow doing Gamera's voice calling out for "KENNNYYY!"

Ahhhh.
Little known factoid about me: I met my husband at MST3K the movie's first night it opened. We were both on the AOL mstie board, and the SoCA faction agreed to meet at the Laemle 5 (I know I spelled that wrong).

How to descirbe MST3k???
Well… In the not too distant future (next Sunday, A.D.) Joel Robinson was under the employ of one Dr. Clayton Forrester. By trapping Joel in space and sending him bad movies, Dr. Forrester and his assistants (such as TV's Frank) attempted to determine the movie that, when inflicted on the masses, would cause insanity and he could control the world. To combat this, Joel invented several robots to keep him company and to heckle the movies mercilessly to ensure his sanity. After several years, Joel escaped to be replaced by Mike Neslon, a temp worker without a clue. After Mike and the bots were turned into omniscient energy beings, they returned to the Satellite of Love (their ship) in the future and were confronted with new adversaries including Pearl Forrester (Dr. Forrester's cryo-frozen mother), Professor Bobo (an ape), and Observer (a super-intelligent alien that carries his brain in a bowl).
It sounds weird, but it's super funny!
