(The badge on the poster is most likely the result of a hasty prop assistant and they probably didn't even realize it – never underestimate the eyes of the fans!)

Oh, I think it was discussed "back in the day", if I could only remember the first episode she said it… I mean, lilmac has the badge number in her user name, and she's been on here "forever" (just checked: July 09) so it was definately a season 1 thing. I mean, I knew there was a difference, and I didn't pick up on it by myself, so it was definately mentioned on this board or abc.com before.
 

I love it! I laughed out loud when I first saw it. It captures the wackiness that is Castle.

I don't mind Beckett's goofy look, like she's about to say something snarky. 

It certainly goes will with his smug; "I knew we were meant to be together.. one way or another."

I found something out about badge numbers. They are issued badge numbers and ID employee numbers. Those IDEN are 5-7 digits and their badge numbers are usually the last 4 digits of that ID number. Although, I'm not sure, always.

The badge numbers are never retired, just recycled for further generations of cops. They are only retired when they are killed in the line of duty. You can apparently request a particular badge number too if your father or grandfather (etc) had the same number. 

So, theoretically her badge # should be 1319. But like I said, the writers could just as easily make up some story as to why her's doesn't match.

Honestly though, I don't think they caught the error.

Fantastic poster – can't seem to click on it and get a larger version but it's ok.  And maybe it's just wishful thinking but even under the circumstances (handcuffs) there seems to be romantic chemistry. Ok, I'm a little strange.
